The place gives you a feel of the Spanish architecture and their living habits. The guide gives you a detailed explanation of everything in each room. How the place got invaded and how there are 7 flags for the region which is now a downtown region on the border of Mexico.

Who knew that Laredo was, for a short time, part of a separate republic that included land on both sides of the Rio Grande and had its own flag? This small museum tells the story of Laredo, its interaction with the larger countries on both sides of it, its brief time as capital of the Republic of the Rio Grande, and life for some of the people of its past. Doesn't take long to go through; check it out if it's open when you're in the downtown area.

You are charged a $2 admission fee per person to tour this wonderfully grand little museum! There is a great amount of wonderfully conveyed history within this little building. There are a few rooms with artifacts from each period that give one a visual example of the times. This is a must see if you are interested in history.

This well organized museum shows some of Laredo's early history under 7 flags. Staged rooms gave you an idea of the lifestyle of the periods depicted. Good historical photos. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Good place to start for a BRIEF run through of Laredo History. Admission is only $2 dollars and worth it. We spent about 45 minutes in the museum - which is an older adobe home from Old Laredo. The museum has some information to read in the one of four rooms; the other three rooms were occupied with period pieces of antiques and items replicating the historic home's furnishings. Note, this museum is quaint and small. The museum employee was very kind, helpful and knowledgable about the questions we asked. I would defiantly recommend this as a place for tourists or visitors to start when wanting to explore the history of Laredo.

This tiny museum is a must see for anyone who wants to learn about Laredo, Tx. My son still loves to tell people that we have 7 flags - not 6 like the rest of Texas. The tour guide we had was dramatic and engaging for the children (we took a cub scout group).

El Edificio sede se encuentra situado frente de la Plaza de San Agustín en la ciudad de Laredo, albergando un pequeño pero bien acondicionado museo en el cuál se recrea el menaje de la época y semblanzas históricas de la efímera "República del Río Grande" (1840) que con animo independiente formaron: Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas y parte de Texas.Tips:- El acceso es fácil, apenas al cruzar la garita fronteriza se dobla a la derecha y en menos de 5 minutos caminando.- Ingreso 2 dólares.
