Wonderful zoo, great number of animals with wonderful enclosures. Their museum is a nice break from the heat. Be sure and ask about the history of the refuge, it is fascinating!

I don't typically write reviews, but folks need to know about this gem in Salina! I have used the RHZ Conference Center twice now to host folks from across the state for day long meetings. Gail and her staff are very attentive and accommodating. The facility is lovely and the food is always amazing. I can't say enough nice things! Thanks RHZ for making us look good!

Nice way to spend the afternoon. It's not Kansas City or Wichita but a nice little zoo for the Salina area.

Loved the location and the experience. Be ready to walk. Lots to see and very interesting. Lots of sun but the indoor museum is good also

Biggest collection of dead animals in Kansas. Yes, they have a building stuffed to the rafters with taxidermy.This is not what I expect for a Zoo !

I just love this place. You can take a leisurely stroll around or ride the tram. There is a petting zoo for the kids, I walk through every time I go, which has been on several occasions. Whenever I get to Salina I try to stop by and visit this place. Although I really don't care too much for zoo's, this one is into conservation. There is also a great museum on the same grounds, well worth a visit too.

This zoo is beautifully laid out, great exhibits and animals. Great staff. One of the best - take the time to visit! (Our daughter also did an internship here and the staff truly cares about the animals, takes time to talk to visitors,etc)Pros: * Small and up close visits * Price is good * Beautiful location and grounds - hilly so be prepared! * Zoo tram available * Great exhibits and museum Cons: * Hilly and can be quite windy/chilly but just be prepared

My 2 year old is always fascinated with the animals at Rolling Hills. What a wonderful way to spend the day! The animals are always healthy and active. The best time to go for us is early in the morning, this is when the animals are most active and interactive. The gorilla exhibit is our favorite part. If you have a chance to ride the tram, I highly recommend it! Don't forget to bring quarters to feed the animals in the children's zoo and the fish in the pond. They don't call it Rolling Hills for nothin! There are a few hills to get up and down so take that into consideration. Also attached to the zoo and included in your ticket entry is the museum. It's a great way to cool off from walking the zoo and see some awesome exhibits and walk around the world.

My expectations were high as I have visited bigger much better zoos (San Diego & Los Angeles). One aspect I did like was the tram that goes through the park. We felt the amount of animals were minimal. There is vast room for improvement and expansion. It did not take long for us to go through the park.

I was on a tour with a group of about 50 people and we were expected. Once in we were directed to the trams, except the seats were so dirty no one would set on them. That seemed to be a problem because our driver was gone for quit a while and returned with ONE paper towel. It was a very pleasant morning, so much so almost all the animals were either hiding or some place out of sight. Did not bother our driver, she just talked along like they were there. The museum inside is GREAT, the best I've ever seen. The museum is worth the trip. Lunch wasn't much. A hamburger and chips. The only condiment was some ketchup packs. No onions, pickles, just a dry hamburger. Someone finally found some mustard, but it was so old you couldn't get it out of the pack. Discounting these drawbacks this is really a nice, clean well kept zoo and museum that needs to pay a little more attention to the details.
