If you time it right, you can find huckleberries galore just off the trails and roads here. And if it's not huckleberry season, it's still a great place to take the kids and have a picnic.

If you enjoy any type of outdoors activity, Mount Spokane has every possible opportunity year-round. Spring, summer and fall allow for abundant hiking and mountain biking on the vast system of cross country and hiking trails. Winter months allow for XC and downhill skiing as well as trails for snow machines and snow shoeing. Mt. Spokane is a local favorite for people who want to drive at the most 45 minutes to be quickly at the mountain for whatever type of outdoor activity is in season!

My favorite activity here is snowshoeing in winter and mountain biking in warmer months. You need a Discover Pass and Sno-Park Pass to park in the lots.

Summer, winter, and fall, we love Mt Spokane! Huckleberries and hiking in the summer, Green Bluff picking through fall, and easy riding in the winter. Just got dumped on by some fresh powder but you're stuck at work? 45 minutes later you're night skiing for < $20! Love the Foggy Bottom on a bluebird day, this mountain is awesome!

We have lived here in Spokane and finally made it up there last month. It is a pleasant drive on a very nice road. There was not a lot of traffic and you are limited in a vehicle as to how far you can go. The views are amazing and you can see many lakes from the top. You do need a discover pass to park,

We camped overnight and were the only ones there. The washrooms were clean and well lit. We took a hike and ran into moose! Didn't expect that. We checked out quite a few trails and they are all nicely marked. Visiting the summit and Vista Lodge are a must. We'll be back soon.

You have to have a pass to access the mountain as it's federal land. You can get a pass in advance or purchase a day pass. Cash only if there is no attendant which was the case on my visit. Nice drive there from Spokane. Road is in excellent condition. Nice views along the way including wildlife. I saw some turkeys and babies. At the base of the ski lift, looks like a nice hill in the winter. Also, there were some young ladies riding horses on the road. There were also hiking trails which are probably the cross country winter trails. Nice place.

Take the time to visit the Vista House on top of the mountain. It's an easy walk from the parking and offers spectacular views. Bring dramamine for people prone to motion sickness on the drive back down.

We were visiting Spokane on vacation and went to Mt. Spokane one day. We stopped at the ranger station to get a recommendation for a hike and pay the fee to enter (it's a discover pass park). The ranger told us to hike to the tope of Mt. Kit Carson. It was approximately 2-3 miles to the top and the view was very nice. It was hazy the day we were there, so the view wasn't as good as it could have been. You could see some lakes and the river, but just not with the clarity that would have resulted in a great view.We then drove to the top of Mt. Spokane. Again, the view was nice but due to the haze wasn't awesome that day. We did see a pika and enjoyed watching it run around. Would have to admit that I'm more use to hiking around Mt. Rainier, so the scenery at Mt. Spokane did compare to that.
