The tasting was free, and we got a sample of around 10 wines. We all agreed that we liked their blueberry wines, so we bought a bottle with the cheese and crackers and sat on the deck on a beautiful day.

My wife and I and another couple had a great time last Saturday at the Charlotte Village Winery. A granddaughter of the founders was very friendly and greeted us immediately as we entered. We had the complimentary tastings of the wines, and she told us about the wine, where the grapes came from, and which type of oak barrels (French or from Minnesota) in which some of the wines had been aged. We liked the chardonnay, and I thought the dry blueberry wine was interesting as it had very little blueberry taste, a good thing in my opinion. We bought a few bottles and the women sat on the porch with glasses of wine while the men went blueberry picking. We will return!

We always visit this winery when we visit northern Vt..they have a great selection of fruit wines that we enjoy..this visit we had the opportunity of meeting one of the owners...he was very social and pleasant to speak with..we didn't need a tasting cause we knew what we liked..and he invited us to sit on the deck with him, but we had a few more stops to make b/4 getting back to Stowe..very nice building ..lots of gifty things..a great place to visit..

free wine tastings, with bottles available at great prices. the PYO blueberrries are a great deal and so much fun as well. cute little family run business.

One has to travel a bit off the beaten path to reach Charlotte Village Winery, so we weren't quite sure what to expect when we arrived at the small establishment. The view of the Adirondack Mountains was quite spectacular. When we entered we were warmly greeted by the young woman whose grandparents founded this establishment. She was warm and friendly throughout her presentation as we sampled the vineyard offerings. We were pleasantly surprised to find some great dry wine. As a special bonus, the tasting was free. We enjoyed our stop so much that we decided to share a cheese plate and sip on a glass of wine while enjoying the view from their deck. Thanks Kate, for making our visit so enjoyable.

Off the beaten path but not to be missed. This small family run winery has some wonderful red and white fruit blends. Very relaxing tasting, Our server was very knowledgable about her wines. We left with a bottle of red.

This winery is a hidden gem!!! All tastings are free. It is not crowded as it is somewhat off the beaten path. There is a lovely vineyard and and blueberry gardens. Nice patio to sit out and enjoy the autumn ambience. Unusual offerings. They warmed the apple cider wine for us and we bought that along with the semi dry blueberry wine. This winery really knows its stuff!!!! A must go to place if you enjoy this type of thing. No tourist trap here.

We visited their Quechee Store, so not the main place here in Charlotte. We did enjoy their wines and bought a few.

My friend and I had a wonderful wine tasting experience at this charming, family-owned winery-- and I am comparing this experience to tastings that I've had in California, Argentina, and France!First, the tasting is complimentary and there are no restrictions on the number of tastes. The tastes were poured at a leisurely rate, and the hostess was relaxed and chatty. Second, the wine was delicious. The winery makes fruit wine but in a different manner than others-- while most wineries just ferment the fruit, so you are really drinking alcoholic juice, Charlotte Village Winery uses the fruit to infuse flavor into red blends and white blends. Thus, their blueberry red wine is a red wine with the taste and finish of blueberries, but it still tastes like wine and not juice. The blueberries are all grown at the vineyard. Third, my friend and I both received complimentary glasses of wine for buying bottles, and the pours were enormous! We relaxed on their lovely porch drinking our wine, and then, when we decided we wanted to pick blueberries (part of the vineyard is "u-pick" blueberries), they offered us a pint of blueberries for free. Plus, the family members make desserts and sell them on site.This was a wonderful, relaxing wine-tasting stop that was truly unpretentious and non-commercial. Stop there!

The reviews of this winery seemed really positive, so we gave it a try. Are we glad we did! The pace was relaxed, the spiel was genuine, not rehearsed and rushed, and the wines were great. My wife and I prefer wines with a LOT of flavor and some wineries blend their fruit wines to make the expensive fruits go farther. Not here. Plenty of flavor, excellent prices, and free, generous tasting. Why can't they all be like this?
