Love this new addition to the Georgia State Parks. Great place to hike, stay the night, and enjoy some of Georgia's natural beauty. I understand that they just completed a mountain bike trail, so I'm itching to go back and give it a run. Campsites are nice and clean, and the hiking trails were well marked. Not a whole lot of activities at the time of my visit, but considering they are relatively new to the State Park system, I would expect they will have more as they mature. Certainly worth a visit.

We had a great picnic with the grand kids , walked the trails. but we wished for a bike trail., or maybe a rock to climb , I know it is new and in the works, look forward to growth in these areas.

This place is a hidden gem. It just needs some refining. We pulled up and paid $5 for the day pass. The friendly man at the gate handed us a map and we drove around to the visitors' center. No one was there as they were out to lunch, so we looked around for some information and couldn't really find anything. That is my biggest complaint and the reason this gets a 4 instead of a 5. The map is hard to decipher as it is blurry. And there is no blown up, color map at the visitors' center. I always like to map out a plan of attack when visiting, but there was no way to do that here. The park was in excellent shape. The trails are cool and heavily wooded. Make sure you bring bug spray. The staff was very friendly. P.S. You can rent a canoe for $12 for 4 hours. Just make sure you have a shuttle ready.

This is a great state park. Excellent place to take your family and just stroll through the woods. I recommend this park. You wouldn't regret a visit here.

It is a lot of fun - several trails to choose from, clean and well kept and the personnel are great. There is a camping sites and met a family who was there and they were having a great time, riding bikes and doing the trails.

Exactly what you would expect from a new state park - very clean facilities and campsites. It is well planned and well maintained. We saw TONS of deer, a few turkey, and an occasional armadillo and raccoon. We were there camping for the weekend in early April 2014 and chose to stay in the West Platform Camping. We were the only people in this section for the entire weekend and loved it. This camping area is a walk-in (500 ft) to the wooden platform campsites from the parking and bathhouse (comfort station). There is a pull-cart at the bathhouse that can be used for moving camping gear from the car to the sites. I've walked further to the bathhouses at some regular campgrounds so don't let the 500 ft walk deter you. There is no electricity or water at these campsites. The platform sites make it nice if it is rainy to keep the tent from getting mup-splashed. The platforms have loops to tie your tent corners so bring some twine or small rope. All sites have a picnic table and in-ground grill/fire ring. There is one ADA campsite here so the path is well developed and graveled for wheelchair access. NOTE: The only thing this section needs is somewhere to charge your devices at the bathhouse. I did not find an electrical outlet in the bathhouse but didn't go into the ladies side. The bathhouse has one toilet and one shower in both the ladies and men's sides. The main campground loops look very nice and maintained with electrical and water at each. I would assume the bathhouses are great but never looked in on them. Loading some pics of West Platform Camping along with some of the Backcountry Platform sites. There is a 5 mi hike or 3 mile canoe (up stream) to these Backcountry sites. The office closes at 5:00pm but if you already have reservations they will have your info on the front door of the visitor center. The gate closes at 10:00pm so call before 5:00 to get the gate code if you plan to arrive late.

Nice new state park. 3.5 years old. Campground is small & quiet. Sites are laid out well. Built among pine trees so they had to cut a lot down. Planted hardwoods. As they grow & mature, this campground will get better & better. We went when it was wet so there was a lot of mud because grass just hasn't grown in yet. Nice trails also. Next time we hope to take the kayaks.

We live in Florida and were looking for a campground near Newnan, Ga since we were visiting family in the area. Chattachoochee Bend State Park was he only park located in the area that I considered. Most all other search's revealed Mobile Home Parks. We have a 42 foot Class A rig and were reluctant since the park claims they can only support a 40 footer. The roads leading into the park are paved and free of low lying limbs and power cables. Once we saw the camping facilities, we were amazed. The spots in Camping area #1 are large and can easily accommodate the largest of the Class A's. The sites have both 30 and 50 amp service and water. No sewer hook up, but the bathrooms and showers are new and clean. Dump station is also close by. The entire State Park is fantastic and those in the area should be proud of the facility. It is a little drive (25-30) minutes to grocery stores. We will definitely stay again. Hopefully in the summer when temps are better. This is a must see and a great value. Only $28.00 per night.

I could only wish that Georgia's new Chattahoochee Bend had been a state park back when I was growing up close by. With its well developed campsites, trails, and paddling opportunities, it's a gem.

This place has all we look for in a nature preserve. Respectfully natural setting, places for people of all ages to tramp around and enjoy, strenuous and easy trails and the beautiful Chatahootchee River. We even saw an otter! The park is clean with many restroom facilities.
