The Cultural Center exhibits are well-done. History is well-preserved for those who visit. Many artist shows, an antique show, as well as performing arts venue.

Besides being a beautiful building (old schoolhouse), the museum is outstanding. We enjoyed the art exhibit as well. What a treasure! We are so glad we began our visit to Madison here.

The Madison Morgan Cultural Center is a fascinating museum. The old schoolhouse has been beautifully restored; the exhibits, including a cotton gin and an old printing press, are interesting historical artifacts. The school auditorium is beautiful, and the restored classroom looks exactly like the ones in my grammar school.

The Cultural Center was a very interesting place to visit. The displays of local history and the beautiful auditorium were fun to wander through on a rainy day. Well worth the stop.

This museum has a mix of history of the school and a history of the area. Oliver Hardy of Laurel and Hardy fame was a student here. There is a restored classroom with desks, tablets, and a very cool relief map of Asia. The museum also has a collection of items from the area, with a land grant, a couple of wedding dresses, and a hornet's nest file. The hornet's nest file is a pharmacist's stack of old prescriptions that looks a lot like a hornet's nest!

This was a free museum for us. It is extremely interesting, both historically and culturally. One of the focal points is this is the building where Laurel Harley, from the comedy team went to school.

Not only is this a beautifully restored Schoolhouse they have much to offer. They have a very nice museum, great art exhibits and offer wonderful music, theater, film and lectures. The Madison Morgan Cultural Center is must see for visitors and an absolute Gem for local events.

Let's be clear, if you go to the MMCC thinking you're visiting the High in Atlanta you will be disappointed. However, if you are into Architecture, and most who journey to Madison are, the visit is worth it for the building alone. So many towns in America would have simply razed the old building, but Madison saved it, and now uses it as a Museum and performing arts venue. We had no idea that the Atlanta Symphony has been performing there once a year for 30 years, but now that we know you can bet we'll make a return visit to see the performance in the wonderful acoustics of the very old, and very beautiful, well preserved auditorium. The small permanent exhibits were enjoyable, and the temporary exhibit during our visit of excellent quality. If you're in Madison, take the time to visit and support their efforts.

This little museum in located in a gothic looking school. I had driven by it numerous times and did not know it was there. I attended an exhibit on the front lawn one day and walked inside. Wow! It has some wonderful exhibits of life in rural GA, starting with the Indians. There are tools, pottery, maps. Another exhibit is a Victorian parlor. Upstairs they have a classroom set up. When we have company I always take them to the museum. After you finish, drive down to the square. You can spend all day going into all the shops and antique stores. Also on the square is the welcome center. Ask for a map of the walking tour. It is a very well done map, it gives the history of the homes. The homes around Madison square are stunning. We always finish with a meal at Chops. Not a fancy place but the food is very good!! Afterwards head on over to Scoops for some ice cream. I hope you enjoy our little town.

The staff, or the one person we met who greeted us at door, was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed the art galleries particularly - lovely work and creative themes for each gallery. Much of written text was difficult to read because lighting was poor throughout.
