I'm sorry but of all the capital cities I've been to, Podgorica is the worst, and I don't feel too bad saying this, because even most Montenegrins I met say the same thing! The clock tower only serves to bolster this claim. Starkly standing in a dilapidated square, it is adorned by nothing save some crap graffiti at its base. There is no sign explaining its significance. It's not even that attractive. couldn't even bring myself to take a picture of it. Two thumbs down.

Unfortunately, due to Podgorica being continually bombed during World War II, not many structures survived the war. One of the oldest structures left in the city is the Clock Tower, which dates from the 18th century during the Ottoman Empire. The tower, which is near the Ribnica Bridge, is a great place for pictures. There also are many fine restaurants in the area.
