My wife and I decided to take a week out of the cold English weather and spend a week ion Gozo Malta. After looking at prices and facilities of hotels and B&Bs we decided to search for a self contained property. We looked at a few then decided on an apartment in a quiet street in an ideal location which was convenient for touring around the Island of Gozo.Victoria is the capital city of Gozo, it is easy to park, lots of shops and side streets full of small stores. You really need to park somewhere and spend half a day exploring the small streets and unique stores and spend time chatting to the local people who are genuinely friendly .As the Cathedral was under extensive renovation we did not actually go inside. However, if you are interested in really ancient buildings and especially beautiful churches tour around all the small villages and be amazed at the paintings and fantastic murals etc inside every church. Most are equal or better than churches in Rome. Our apartment was a special place to stay.In a secluded street 5 minutes drive from the Ferry or 1 minute walk from the bus stop.View of the sea and Malta from the back bedroom and a lovely view of open fields and hills from the front Balcony. The apartment was so well equipped with every possible item for convenience. The owner, even provided us with a goody parcel like milk bread and other essential items for our arrival even a bottle of local wine and local beers. If anyone wants more details on anything regarding The Apartment or Gozo, I will be pleased to answer any queries

A religious pageant with no historical overall content nor insight into medieval nor renaissance life beyond the church.

Like others I stumbled across this small but worth while museum. I was particularly taken by the "Spine" that runs up through the building and very succinctly charts the history of Gozo. Very helpful reception staff and enjoyed the art in the entrance.

Visited this museum during one of our visits to Victoria Gozo. It is full of beautiful religious artifacts which have been decorating the great Basalica of St. George through out the years. Some of the items are really unique and show the love our ancestors had for their church. Interesting also is that one can find other art exhibitions from time to time.

Called into this new gallery/museum by accident really. In essence, it has a lot of religious artefacts, but the historical context of Gozo is interesting to see. And it's only 3 Euros!!!My favourite bit was the (free) exhibition in the front part of the building which had amazing sculptures made of rabbit bones ... sounds grisly but they're beautifully made and I went back twice to see them again and take photos which were permitted by the friendly and informative curator.

Fascinating museum in a sympathetically renovated building just off Pjazza San Gorg in the heart of the old town. This is not a museum about Gozo itself so much as about the religious backbone that runs through Gozitan life and next door's St George's church. The museum opened in February 2013 and - to my mind - was worth the entrance fee for the "spine" alone. The spine is a huge timeline of stacked local stones running from the basement through to the third floor of the museum. It's still a work in progress, with much of the more recent timeline still to be completed, but it's very well done. Interesting ecclesiastical exhibits, if that's your sort of thing - I was lucky that the 14 year-old with me was interested, as there is nothing much for children unless you count listening to various types of Gozitan music in the interactive audiovisual room on the 3rd floor. In due course, there will be a roof-top café, but it too is still a work in progress. When completed, and if run by the right people, it will be a fabulous place to stop and rest away from the bustle that can be the Pjazza below.

This newly converted building - done very well - is not a museum about Gozo at all, which one might expect from its name. In reality "Heart of Gozo" is the museum of the adjoining St George's Church, with all the ecclesiastical paraphernalia one would expect, some quite outrageous from an aesthetic standpoint. Definitely an acquired taste.

Stashed in the oldest part of the town but centrally and easily reached, hence The Heart Of Gozo. A refurbished old building incorporating modern architecture displaying rare antique artefacts mixed with history from Neolithic era to the present. A must view when in Victoria Gozo.

I met a Gozitan RC priest, a friend of a friend from Malta, and hosted him and his group of 25 Gozitan pilgrims in my home in Jerusalem, Israel, for Ash Wednesday dinner this year. They insisted I come visit after Passover ended. He planned, executed and runs this museum. And I have given a Crusader period enamelled glass beaker from my late mother's ancient glass collection, to the museum, in memory of my dear parents, of blessed memory. This is by way of full disclosure. I still feel this is a wonderful small museum, and I strongly recommend it, though I would skip a close look at the religious picture on the 3rd or 4th fl., of the Blessed Virgin feeding the masses by pressing her right breast to spray mother's milk to then. I swear. A little too graphic for this 'Nice Jewish Boy'!

Religious artefacts and regalia are displayed in this beautiful building . The wonderful work of goldsmiths, silversmiths, painters and embroiderers are on show. I saw very little to hold a child's interest and I would have like to see something for them to enjoy- chalkboards, eye spy trail, puzzles etc. Worth a visit in the enchanting Square of St. George.
