I really enjoyed the visit to the Gospels when they visited Durham. The staff were very knowledgeable and really made the visit for me. There were also demonstrations of how the parchment and inks were made. really enjoyed this visit and hopefully the Gospels may come again to the North East where they belong.

These are a wonderful part of our North East Heritage and it would be marvellous if they were brought back to stay here instead of being in London.

Very well designed exhibition that could easily have been badly done. The Gospels could be viewed as a very dry topic and the exhibition brought them to life. Organisation was well done, bookings had to be made in advance which confused some people but this was necessary to allow everyone the opportunity to view at a nice pace. Very well done.

I am so glad I got to see this once in a life time event which took place in Durham. I am glad that they moved the exhibition to London as I think it is a fascinating look at how history is preservedThe exhibition itself was very well put together a factual, giving details of the birthplace of the Gospels. It gave a clear concise insight to the story behind it. It was unbelievable to see something so old survive, and the actual manuscript itself was beautiful. A must see, a wonderful exhibition.

The whole exhibit was very well organized and to see a book that old and with such history was breathe taking,

Some complain it's boring, but I found it very interesting, nicely presented and most of all free from screaming children running wild.

These were great, as the story and artifacts built up to the grand finale of the book itself. For adults only, I would suggest, but a really good hour or two spent finding out about local history and history-makers.

We booked for a time on a Sunday afternoon and were not dissapointed. This was a rare event seeing the gospels back in the North East.

Terrible dull lighting. Dredful people. Once I finally got to see the Gospel it was on the must boring page. Was so upset. However, on my way out a security guard suggested that I pop upstairs to the Wolfson Gallery where I spent a very happy hour looking at children's work that had been inspired by the gospels and used a huge ipad to look at the lovely pages. This part of the experience was AMAZING.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit it was great to see a part of local history my husband wasnt sure before we went but as I said if we were on holiday we would go and look so why not when at home well worth the bother
