Enlightening but not for the faint hearted. This museum depicts the time of the 'Troubles' in Derry to the present day and can be very confronting. That being said it is very informative and well worth a visit to gain an understanding of what the Troubles were like for the people of the Bogside.

First visit to Tower Museum even though have visited the Maiden City hundreds of times. We visited on Wednesday 4th. March and were warmly greeted by friendly, knowledgeable Gentleman in Reception. As Seniors we were given a concession reduction in charges. Our tour lasted about 90 Minutes as we took in all of the Exhibits and the accompanying descriptions and Historic viewpoints. As my Father came from the City and I have visited since childhood a lot of the facts were known to me but there were lots of information completely new.The overall presentation was excellent and well worth a visit.

Clearly this museum needs a bit of a face lift. That said having lived through the events in question but in the eastern part of the province it was very thought provoking. I'd been to Derry many times but this was the first time info the bogside. The lesson for us alla is to ensure that we don't ever allow ourselves to descend into the hell we all came through. Also enjoyed chatting to guy on door. Can't we just even now start stopping trying to hurt each other. Would strongly recommend a visit.

how it depicts the 'Troubles' from the late sixties to the Nineties.Shows the skill of the people who put the exhibitions together.

Having heard a lot about this museum, I have been wanting to visit for ages, and got my opportunity last Fri, while visiting the city. But when I got there, a male staff member informed me that it's no longer open here, and that they are in the process of moving. When I asked where they were going, and how long before they open up again, he was vague, and wouldn't give a straight answer.

I loved this. Very moving, very informative of the events of Bloody Sunday. A bit grim, but an outstanding collection of photos, newspapers, eyewitness documentaries and other memorabilia relating to this tragic event. Note: if you are a racist, bigot, idiot and/or general jerk, you won't like this museum and you won't appreciate it.

Those who created this museum should be congratulated for the way they tell the story of what happened on bloody Sunday. The layout of the exhibits and information is excellent and makes for compulsive reading. What happened that day was truly shocking, as was much of what went on in Londonderry during the troubles. Many people suffered; civilians and soldiers, who all deserve justice. Hopefully the wounds of the past can be healed and people can move on without forgetting what happened in the past. We combined this visit with a guided tour of the Bogside and were humbled by the dignity and friendliness shown towards us.

The Free Derry Museum was one of the highlights of my visit to Derry. It gave a fairly unbiased look into Bloody Sunday, by focusing on facts, and explaining the timeline up until recent years. I definitely recommend a visit to have an understand Derry's place during the Troubles, and to see its effect on their modern history.

Lovely trip out here and would recommend to anyone. Was recomended by family and friends on a visit to Ireland and myself and family really enjoyed the day. Would advise to book something else to do also and does not take up a full day

I have now had the pleasure of visiting this fine museum on two occasions, each time I have met John, he is a gentleman and gives a real insight in to the past history of Derry - in particular The Bogside. There are some displays and stories that are sad and may even make some people angry, however John has mentioned that the visitors that have came all leave the museum more educated and in fact the visitors have included some groups that may leave some people surprised. Anyway there are plans to move to newer larger premises as these premises prove to be so popular, as I say not to be missed.
