We took the bus out of Mariehamn and enjoyed the pretty drive to Sund. We had a great lunch followed by a climb round the castle walls as we learned the history of the place. Next door is the open air museum with an interesting collection of Åland buildings, which is included in the price. Well worth a look.

Had a lovely tour guide take us around Kastelholm's castle. If you are in the area it is worth a visist, especially as the renovations are complete, and have been done to a high standard. From experience a tour guide is recommended as it adds depth to the visit. The ticketing is done well, and Vita Björn is a short yet interesting trip as well.

Quite small Kastelholm Castle is not among the most interesting castles I've ever been to but I still enjoyed visiting it. It has some interesting ties with Swedish history and as a history nerd I really appreciated it. The castle and it's surroundings are really picturesque.

Nice old castle to visit, but not much anything special. If the weather is fine, then the visit vill be much more enjoyable.. If you visit here, do not miss the near-by "prison museum".

Приехали спустя 20 лет посмотреть, вспомнить былые времена. Люблю замки, можно облазить абсолютно весь, мы попали туда во время праздника, и была куча костюмированного народа,это придавало шарм.

Es casi increíble pensar que este archipiélago fue el lugar de muchas batallas entre rusos, finlandeses y suecos.El castillo de Sund es un ejemplo más de la historia bélica de la zona y, aunque no se pueda describir como un gran monumento arquitectónico, es un agradable destino para pasar la tarde.La remodelación ha sido hecha correctamente y dentro existe una amplia exposición de la historia de los últimos siglos en la provincia.

Absolut empfehlenswerter Besuch. Nebst dem sehenswerten Schloss befindet sich in Gehdistanz auch ein sehenswertes Freilichtmuseum. Im Schloss können die Kinder eine Schatzsuche machen – leider nur auf Schwedisch, aber auch fremdsprachige Kinder können die Schatztruhen suchen und die Puzzles mitmachen.

Stort stenslott från 1400-talet. Först var det ett mindre slott men genom århundranden så har slottet ökat i storlek. En svensk kung hade slottet som jaktslott. Massor med fakta genom slottet när man gick.
