Old Rauma is a remarkably charming old wooden town in Western Finland. It is full of colorful wooden buildings, with narrow cobblestone streets running all over through them. It is actually an UNESCO World Heritage site, as it is the largest, continuous, wooden town in the Nordic countries. It is definitely worth the bus ride if you are anywhere near the region.

This old part of the city is absolutely worth a visit. It is a very large area, it is nice to just walk around and enjoy the meticulously well-kept houses. Old Rauma also offers very good shopping opportunities for those who enjoy small shops and boutiques with good service.

The old town is quite nice but I was a bit disappointed. I had high expectations regarding the World Heritage status but even though it was pittoresque and charming, I appreciated as much (even more) as Porvoo.But charming though.

Old Rauma is a World Heritage sight, with a lot of shops, boutigues and a couple of restaurants. People also live there, some of them in tge same house as many generations of their ancestors. The wooden houses are pritty and streets narrow, a picturesque place.

Very unique city. Yet living and very real and genuine. Do not miss the open house sunday when people and families open their ports and let visitors check their gardes... So fascinating.
