黎明之门是维尔纽斯的代表,天气好的时候拍起来真的很漂亮!上面的小礼拜堂也一定要去看有维尔纽斯最有名的圣母像,很不错喔!

Although the picture of Our Lady is visible from the street it is worth entering the church on the left and taking the stairs up to the right so that you find yourself in the room. It is also worth visiting in the evening to see it lit up.

Of all the places of worship this was the smallest but most beautifully decorated. A single room above the last remaining gate to the city. The gate itself and the short portion of old city wall attached gives a flavour of what it would have been like.

A must see as part of the walk around the old city. It must have been amazing when the whole wall was in place and this was one of the many gates into the city.

Beautiful, take a look at night to see lit up. Beggars below (sadly.) A quick stop on your exploration of old town.

For more than 15 years I wanted to see this place. Finally I made it. What a beautiful place! There is no way that you should miss this place while you are in Vilnius. It is obligatory to stop by there, look at this gorgeous icon, pray, and take a picture for your memories. St. John Paul II visited this place. So, it is not only beautiful place but also very historical and significant, especially for Poles.

This is the iconic place you have to visit in Vilnius, especially it is linked to Polish culture, religion and literature (Pan Tadeusz of Adam Mickiewicz)

This place is very special for Lithuanians (and not only), because of its meaning for devote people, besides being very beautiful. You can see the chapel from outside (and observe how some people pray or at least make a compliment when they cross the gate and are in front of the image in the street), but you can also go inside. After the gate, there is a small door on the right that you can open and climb some stairs to have access to the chapel that you see from outside. If you are distracted you might miss it. It was a very nice man that is selling postcards in front of it that explained me that I could enter - by the way, if you meet him, buy him some postcards, he is almost always there, even with very cold weather, and he is always very nice, even for people that don´t buy the postcards.

The very special place in Vilnius and quite famous in the eastern Europe especially becasue of religious reasons. I think it's the first place where everyone goes when they are in Vilnius :)

In the 16th century city gates often contained religious artifacts intended to guard the city from attacks and to bless travelers. The Chapel in the Gate of Dawn contains an icon of The Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of Mercy, said to have miraculous powers.[2] For centuries the picture has been one of the symbols of the city and an object of veneration for both Roman Catholic and Orthodox inhabitants. Thousands of votive offerings adorn the walls and many pilgrims from neighboring countries come to pray in front of the beloved painting. Masses are held in Lithuanian and Polish languages.
