This is definitely worth a visit. It is the only way to get to see St John's church which is wonderful in itself. it was very quiet there and for the most part we had the place to ourself. not many tourist there. The ticket office will give you a map. Besure to visit the frescoes in the bookshop and in the room above it.

Actually, I studied there on exchange. It's not only a functioning university, but a traditional tourist attraction, because the history of Vilnius is closely linked to its university. And every time I had friends visiting me in Vilnius, I brought them here. The entrance is paid, but if you enter through the central door where students enter the Main building, you can get inside for free, and from there you'll get into the inside yards. The university cathedral is very nice. The same good is the old university Tower which has recently opened. For a small fee you can get on top of it (a lot of old winding stairs) and see a wonderful view of the Old Town. If you are a tourist - better take an excursion, it's going to be much more interesting.

Just pass the ticket counter and do it yourself. Use main door to go to the library and study a bit maybe. Walk in the courtyard. There is plenty of plates in Polish as it the university was set up by Poland and under the Polish rule of the territory. Before the ticket counter turn left snd follow straight. There is a cosy, cheap student canteen!

Pleasant enough walk around the courtyards but not really a standout. Murals are interesting. bookshop was closed when we were there sadly.

I think the access is not open to everybody but the library is old-style and nice. If possible, try to go the tower to see Vilnius from above.

The tour through the university courtyards and church made for a pleasant hour or so. I wouldn't say that's it's a "must-see," but if you have some spare time it's worth a visit.

A tour around the university with its hidden courtyards, graceful old buildings and some outstanding modern wall murals is worth the time and small expense. There is also a small but quite good bookstore with guide and art books in many languages.

Be sure to visit the bookstore and carefully look at the ceiling. There are several courtyards to find. I like visiting universities in different cities to get a flavor of where the country is headed.

Nowadays most of the universities are ultramodern buildings. Nice that the old, historical building is still used as university.

The University complex is a series of buildings arranged around courtyards, right in the middle of the Old town. It has a number of architectural and historical features including a magnificent church and bell tower. It's also worth visiting the bookshop to see its painted ceilings. Overall, It is well worth the small amount it costs for entry. We went during term time and the campus was lively with students and academics, all of whom were welcoming and friendly.
