Basecamp is cozy, clean and comfortable. Lars is kind and laidback and you're sure to meet friendly visitors and find awesome snow! I would recommend it to anyone.

if you are looking for a good, simple accommodation in Andermatt, this is the place.I say simple but it is not simple, it has everything you need including a sauna with a terrific view as well as an out door Jacuzzi with a lovely view.As well as that, the owner is very helpful, friendly and quick to respond.The bedding is comfortable and the facilities good.It is on a piste, so true ski in ski out, but that does mean you cannot drive to the door, though for me that just adds to the appeal of the place.I have stayed here a few times and will continue to use it.

I stayed here in September with friends as the base for a cycle tour in the region. The place is friendly, clean, well equipped and stylishly furnished. It is also very good value in an otherwise rather expensive area. I would definitely stay here again.

Simple but very nice hotel / hostel.Clean and all things you might need for a long weekend. Kitchen to cook in, sauna, new friends, very close to the slope (0m).Perhaps a bit long to walk to the city but that is no problem.

Have just spent a weekend in Andermatt at Basecamp biking. Great location for cycling the alpine passes in the area and the lodge itself is a perfect base. We slept in rooms for 4 people with comfortable bunk beds and had a good nights sleep. Self catering was perfect for us and the kitchen and dining area where very clean and tidy and everything was available. On the saturday night Lars chucked on the BBQ and sauna for us which was very welcome after a long day in the saddle. He really went out of his way to make us feel welcome and I would recommend the basecamp for an active holiday in Andermatt!!!

Basecamp Andermatt is a shiny new, low-cost option for mountain sports enthusiasts. Guests prepare their own meals in a communal kitchen, and access is a short hike on a trail, about seven minutes above the train station and the Coop grocery store. The owner is super friendly, helpful and energetic, as is the staff. It is neat and sparkling clean. There is enough space for groups to congregate and for people to find quiet corners, if they prefer. With a ski room, a boot room, a sauna (with a panoramic view), wi-fi, laundry machines, as well as individual food storage areas in the kitchen, this is a modern, well-organized, sports-oriented accommodation. English seems to be the common language, and most of the guests are Europeans. In winter, they all seemed interested in skiing and snowboarding, at the Gemsstock and tours beyond. The kitchen has top quality stoves, oven, dishwasher, and refrigerators. The collection of pots and pans, including woks, large soup pots, fondue pots, allow for a wide variety of meals, and many guests seem to be superb chefs. The lock-able bedrooms offer a variety of configurations with bunk beds and double beds. The bathrooms are shared and totally modern. With geothermal heat, the building is toasty warm, with nice views from the tall windows.If you want a friendly, convenient, modern and basic-options place to stay, this is an excellent choice!

With friends we spend four days in middle of April 2012 at Basecamp in Andermatt. Or better to say above the Andermat. From there is beautifull view to the village and moutains around. The lodge is different due to location and style. At a first view it is kind of surrprise that we could not reach the lodge by car. However it turns into an advantage - all guests where sporty oriented and we had a good discussions durring the visit. All in all I felt more like into a well equipet moutain hut. I can recommend a lodge & hostel for those who can take care of them selfs and enjoy simplicity.

Top class stay at the fully renovated Basecamp! Very beautifull interior! The owner is very friendly and provides great freeride and touring information.
