The posstive things, beatiful huge park with nice habitat besides the sea and some animals to see and some rollercasters and lottery for fun to spend your time and money on.Now to the negative sides:Parking is very expensive by car and so is the entrance and all activities inside, aful expensive in my point of view but if you rich never mind. They removed all cool animals like lions, tigers, bears and so on, Only left is some racoons, monkeys, horses, fishand goats, perhaps some Chamels and Lamas as well. For Reptile lovers it´s a tradegy to see the park mix different snake species in same housing, I´m very supprised how it can be allowed by Swedish animal protection agency.Further more I can tell you I´m from Gavle city and grow up here and the park was match better with more cool animals and mmore activities to do for much lower prices when it use to be own by the goverment, sence it become private it all goes in the way to only make money to as low cost as possible and never mind animals or activities as long as we can sacm all visitors for money. For me and my family I stopped visit the park cause it is to expensive and no cool animals to see and I don't want to contribute with my money for the poor reptiles that do not have a own habitat and risking being in bad health because of the abuse and mixing them, and you wonder how do I now this as a fact? I tell you, I just 2weeks ago met a person that resine for the Reptiles department cause it felt wrong to see the reptiles be mixed like this so my source is former employee of the park.Visit and judge for your self but comparing in money the Stockholm Grönalund park is bigger and almost same price so we prefere to go there and now animals suffers on Skansken in Stockholm.Hope you got som use of this.RegardsJimmy

I went there with two boys aged 8 and 10 with an overnight package, staying in the old Orient Express train wagons located inside the park by the waterland. When we arrived, we started by the pool before doing anything else (had been driving for a couple of hours in the morning). Then most of the first day was spend at the tivoli, we only had time to see a few of the animals that day. The kids LOVED the old fortress out on an island in the end of the park, that was very exciting for them. The night in the train-wagon was cramped and hot, but we had a floor-fan (necessary!) to help out a little. Still an adventure for the kids! Next day we focused on the zoo-part of the park and then went back to the tivoli. Before leaving, we did the pool again. A nice and convienent park for families!

Good mix including rides, animals/reptiles waterfun (for youngsters) and food. Not as cheap as it used to be, but worth a visit.

We spent a day here with our 2 year old son and we all had a great time! Unfortunately, it was a bit hectic in the morning, the lines were very long to get tickets and enter, and then it was quite crowded in the animal areas (particular the monkeys), but once we got past that area, the crowd dispersed a little and then it was fine for the rest of the day. A lot of the animals are out in the open and you walk right past them with no barrier, such as monkeys, snakes, and turtles. We really enjoyed the Amazon boat ride, a nice respite after the busy morning. The picnic areas by the water seemed really nice for relaxing, as well as the adventure island. We had lunch in the tivoli area and had a great time going on a number of rides, not having to wait more than 10 minutes for any ride. I bought a wrist band getting access to all the rides, but my son was able to go for free with me, so we were able to ride his favorites over and over again! After a long hot day of walking around and going on rides, we really enjoyed the water park area, it was very refreshing, even if we were in the kiddie pool most of the time. They could definitely add more pools to this area, it was quite popular and the pool was crowded. We thoroughly enjoyed our day there, but one piece of feedback I would give the park is to increase the number of restrooms they have available. The restrooms were few and far between, and each one only had 2-3 stalls, so you can imagine the queues on a busy July day. And many times the stall was out of paper as well.

We booked this holiday by telephone and the only accomodation available was a "vila". At 4500kr for 2 nights it wasn't cheap but included entry to the animal park. Firstly, the "vila", I should in fact call it barrack! It had a cheap feel and I kid you not, it is clad in plastic! They say you can sleep 8 but good luck to anyone who tries. The barrack was so cramped and small I can't believe anyone would do this and they would only try to offset the cost.In summary: Rubbish, 2 nights 4500kr I expected better.Djurparken/Animal Park and TivoliThe animal park was great, kids loved it!The Tivoli was good also, the rides are an extra cost which is not included in the entry. The restuarants:The food was average at best but it was the lack of cleanliness that was troubling. Food scraps and bird poo on the tables! I had to wipe clean one table myself and another was so bad I had to find a staff member to come and clean it for us. It appears there was no dedicated staff to clean and if there was they were somewhere else.Enjoy the animal park and tivoli but don't expect much from the restuarants, better still take your on food.

Furuviksparken is situated by the sea and offers everything a family could ask for. Beautiful surroundings, lots of animals, especially monkeys and gorillas, a fun fair, entertainment and helpful staff. And a very good restaurant by the sea, Furuviks Brygga.

Here you can come close to the animals, have a nice stroll, go on a rollercoaster or listen to openair concerts. In December you can visit Santa Claus and enjoy the Christmas atomosphere.

This is one of the best parcs in Sweden. The kids can see monkeys, pet lambs, visit a old military installation, play in the small water land etc. etc. The sourrondings are very nice, especially at the far end of the parc where you can have a pic nic on a cliff looking out over the water. As usual in Sweden most things are extra over the entrance fee. The average rides in the tivoli is extra, a poor boar ride is extra, riding the electric cars are extra, even above the tivoli fee. A good tip is to go to the parc by train if you are not planning to stay in the nearby camping. The train is actually closer to the entrance then the parking!

Furuvik is a great solution when you don't really share the interests of people you're travelling with. Here you find:- a little aqua-park with some fountains, swimming pool for the smallest children and fairly nice waterslides for adults, - moderate but interesting shopping area (myself I bought some charming folk-inspired clothes), - attractions (most of them are pretty traditional, but nicely maintained and without awful queues as in Gröna Lund, my family's favorite is floating in a sort of plastic bucket (Flodfärd i Amazonas), where it is possible to see flamingo and other animals from close, great thing for small children imho),- wonderful wild nature where you may sit in the quiet without anyone disturbing, watching at the cold sad sea,- performance of cirkus artists, - a piece of Swedish military history,- food, surprisingly good for an adventure park (my choice is Fiskeläget, where you may sit outside, next to the sea, or in a real fisherman's hut, with the original interior and special smell. Food there - several types of fish, pancakes and several types of desert),- animals! You may play with the goats and their kids, come to 1 meter distance from a kangaroo or lemur, take many cool pictures - there is no glass between people and animals!- hurry up to see Santino, the evil genius of apes world... - check the concert program there. To sum up, Furuvik is less than 3 hours driving from Stockholm, a pleasant, not overcrowded place to spend the whole day (and may be overnight, they have an old cute train to sleep in and some other facilities, prices are acceptable), perfect solution even if you travel together with grandparents, teenagers, freaky photographers, babies (Furuvik has great accessibility for strollers!), romantic friends of childhood and other categories of tourists packed altogether. They even have little trays to load your huge picnic basket. One little thing I've never seen before: food is served on recyclable Areca palm leaf plates, very pleasant alternative to plastic! Now I want to buy it for home use :)

Furuviksparken has specialized in monkeys, so if you are interested in them there is a lot to see. What we appreciate the most is the family friendly design of the park. Apart from animals and the amuzement part, there is also an "adventure track" along with a really good pool area. Be aware however, that the water is usually quite cold. One tip is to bring your own picknick food. The usual zoo-type restaurants are available, but it is much nicer to bring your food out to the cliffs at the sea side.
