I'm impressed to watch this waterfall. Last time it was in summer, now in winter and now with the growing ice in the fall.I was surprised that the the road to Tännforsen was so clean, even the parking area was clean. Even the footpath along the waterfall was in good condition - nothing to complain about!

Well worth the drive up here. Very accessible paths through the Forrest to Sweden's largest waterfall. At this time of the year there is some ice along side the roaring waterfall. Enthusiastic photographers will have a field day. Sadly the cafe and shop are closed at this time of the year but not far to go back to Duved for "fika"

We spent a lovely afternoon seeing the falls and wandering their trail with information about the local flora. They have a lovely small shop for souvenirs and café. Staff were very helpful and personable. Well worth the 30 SKr and the time.

We had a wonderful afternoon visiting the water falls. The falls themselves were very impressive. We enjoyed walking along the paths and identifying the plants using the helpful signs. You have to pay to park but that is the only charge. We'd definitely go back if we were in the area

A beautiful waterfall easily accessible through a well kept trail in the forest. The largest waterfall in Sweden. It is located a short (15 min) drive from Åre along the road towards Trondheim. The fee is 30 SKr for parking to support. There is a visitor center with a shop and restaurant. I did not eat there. The waterfall is a short 5 min walk on an easy to walk on path. You arrive on top of the waterfall and the trail continues down the side of the waterfall to the bottom of it. This part has stairs and some steep sections. There are several spots from where you can watch the waterfall. If you are in the area it is definitely worth a visit.

Amazing to see a waterfall half-frozen (owning to the fact that December was not as cold as it should) and the little information signs along the way made the walk much more interesting! If you are going in the winter, do stop by the Tourist Station before going on the trail as they do have spikes that you can strap onto your shoes so that you can walk better on the icy paths (just remember to return them when you're done).

Had a lovely walk, the partially frozen waterfalls were much better than we expected. Pay the 3kr entrance at the shop and you get basic crampons - which you'll need as it's very icy. Had lunch in the café which was very good, traditional and very calorific:)

We loved the (short) walk to the Tannforsen waterfall, it was all iced up, we had seen it in summer and were back here in end march/beginning of April and had another encounter. Be very careful, since the paths are very slippery!

Right in the middle of the Jämtland highlands, about 15 minutes by car from Åre, you can find Sweden's biggest waterfalls. The panorama view is idyllic, but the both wide and high waterfall itself is dramatic. Rather easily accessible on foot and several points of view to find delight in. Payment is required for parking the car. They also have a small shop with typical local products, which is worth a visit.

I've been several times and it's always a joy. Very loud and large, nice walk through the woods and you get nice pictures out on the walkways. Not accessible if you are not able-bodied.Visible from the top of Åreskutan (if you know where to look). Plenty mosquitoes in summer and the café seems to be open only erratically. Don't go hungry, unless you bring some food along.
