Food is actually quite good, but the service not so much. Maybe it was due to low-season, but that's not a valid excuse. We entered the restaurant and didn't see any waitresses - we had to wait for one for about 15 minutes. Food is good, beer was a disappointment. Since the restaurant is located in a windmill, the surroundings are unique.

We had great expectations about this restaurant and unfortunately were a bit disappointed. We visited the place outside of the high season and maybe therefore service was just ok. Food was actually good and delicious for a pub food. Local ale I tasted was just awful but I am sure I simply made wrong choice out of variety of different local beers. We had to change our table to give space for a large group coming in right after us. Funny, the waitress had a chance to tell us about the group already when we arrived. Maybe she simply did not pay enough attention. Since the food was delicious I might consider dropping in for a second time, maybe this time during summer when outside terrace is open.

We had some expectations for this place since it had been well rated and suggested to us.The place looks nice from the outside. It is a mill and the tables are millstones. The outside has a traditional feel to it. Inside seemed quite touristy but we did not dine there. Instead, we stayed out listening to the live folk band and dancers performing. I have to say that wasn't exactly to my liking but some older people danced with them and some other tourists with more sense of humor joined in. The dishes are mainly meat and fish, something like lamb, salmon, chicken pork, wild boar and one dish that has no meat but mushrooms, beans and barley. My dish, stewed wild boar casserole with mashed vegetables and lentils turned out to be wild boar stew and potato mash, a tiony dash of lentils in mustard, I washed it down a pint of Pihtla ale (Sahti) got eaten, but it must be said, I have had a lot better. The stew tasted like it had been taken straight from a tin can. The potato mash was okay, nothing special and I wasn't even sure they were lentils. The Pihtla ale is an exprerience but if you are not fond of "mildly salty and cloudy beer" then choose something a little less traditional. Comparatively pricy for the quality. Anyway, the real disappointment was the no-meat dish Barley groats with chanterelle (wild mushroom) and baked garlic. This was completely tasteless. It takes real skill to make chanterelle mushrooms so tasteless and wet. The second unfortunate fact was that there were recognizably microwaved watery canned green beans on top of it. The barley tasted like... well unsalted cooked barley with a little cheese on top and somehow the tiny baked garlic did not fit my previous experiences with similar dish on a plate.Service was also exceptionally incompetent. Go here if you love Estonian folk music and dancing or are ond of bland food. Real food lovers should avoid this place, it's not worth the disappointment.

Went here for dinner last night. We weren't that hungry so we ordered a few started to share. They were delicious- I would highly recommend the garlic bread and fish surprise! It was herring done a multiple different ways. I didn't think I was a fan of herring but after trying this I am converted! We also tried the home made beer in strawberry and black currant flavours- both were yummy! The best part of the meal however was our lover waitress monika- she was so lovely, polite and friendly.

We wanted to eat here, but the beer was so bad, and the servicelevel likewise, so we changed our minds. The beer tastes like rotten bananas, and it doesnt have any fizz at all. You should be ashamed of yourself, for even calling it beer.

The restaurant is situated in an old mill (like the ones in the Netherlands). There is an extensive menu, so choice enough. It's a pity that in most restaurants the pork dishes have sauerkraut on it, which I really dislike. That is of course not the fault of the restaurant. I went for the boar stew, which is OK, but not really exiting. Prices are reasonable.

I recently ate for the second time at Trahter Veski, and the food has been consistently good. I ordered the traditional Estonian pork plate that included pork, sauerkraut, and a mushroom sauce. It also included beets, but I didn't eat those...no fault of the restaurant's, I am just not into beets. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old mill, built in 1899, and is walking distance to everything in Kuressaare. I definitely recommend a visit.

Food was good but the staff was not interested to clients. It seems that everything is going here in the summer.
