第一次参观一所监狱，一次很深刻的体会。导赏员很详细的介绍了Kilmainham Gaol与爱尔兰这几百年的历史的关系，另我最感动的是他讲到Connolly与十几个在1916年的起义失败而被枪决的情况。可能这个景点是唯一一个能完完全全地呈现爱尔兰历史的黑暗。

就是个知性之旅囉，不过要事先了解一下爱尔兰的历史会比较好。里面展示各个监狱的样貌，也会有导览人员解说。不妨可以去那边几张酷搜恶搞相，如果想要更了解爱尔兰独立相关历史的话可以去走一遭！

我还以为那里是关于囚犯们怎么生活的林林总总呢,可答案却是错错错。一段关于英国人的种种恶行的怨念,一段冗长无趣的政治牢骚。真是太让我气愤了,特别是我们被安排到剧场去看那让人无法忍受的无聊视频!四处随性地走走看看还是很棒的,如果你能摆脱难缠的导游。

如果你去了都柏林,一定要去看这个监狱,唯一觉得不好的就是整个观光相当冗长。如果它的时间压缩到半个小时的话,便是一次很棒的参观了,但不管怎么说,仍是很有趣。能知道许多关于复活节暴动后被囚禁在这里人们的生活,非常有趣。博物馆也有许多爱尔兰的历史资料。

被一位出色的导游带领参观了监狱后,我们没有失望。如果你有一张遗产卡,你就可以免费参观。如果您将要访问爱尔兰,那你一定要选一个文物古迹去看看。如果你要在半小时内等待下一个导游的话, 博物馆是一个很好的选择。它会让你更多的了解1916年的起义。

克瞒汉姆会让你了解过去200多年来英国统治爱尔兰的情景,之所以没怎么听说过这个监狱,是因为志愿者自费翻新这里,因为爱尔兰政府没有对这个重要具有重大历史意义的地方进行维修,这里还有被英国军队饿死的孩子埋在这里呢。你还会看到1916年叛乱结束后,被英国人枪杀的英勇的爱尔兰共和军。

But of course, that can be expected of a 200 years old prison. I visited in march which was very cold and unconfortable. The tour guide was excellent and the entrance orice very reasonable 4 euros. But unless you are into early 1900's irish history, you can skil the visit.

Very knowledgeable guide who really told us so much about the Gaol and the history. Such an atmospheric tour, takes about an hour and is very busy. Get there early in the day.

Easily reachable on the HoHo bus this is a must see attraction if you want to have any appreciation of Irelands history and in particular its relationship with the UK. Lots of information to take in but well worth it and on a cold bright day in March you see what dismal place it must have been. Don't be tempted to just take the tour and miss out the museum, it's well worth it. Part of the gaol was closed when we visited, but the price had been reduced accordingly so still represented good value. You can't book in advance so it's get there, queue up and book your self on the earliest available tour or any tour that's convenient.
