Don't overlook the museum next to the chateau in the excitement of getting a guided tour to the Donjon - it had a surprisingly good collection of paintings by local artists and we wished we had been able to spend longer in it. When you are trying to ask for directions, ask for the "musee du vieux chateau". The English of the guide was pretty hopeless and it was actually easier to communicate with our shaky French, but he was obviously trying so hard to explain everything thoroughly that it was impossible to mind. Good views from the top of the tower and the history is interesting. Lots of stairs to climb - needs sensible shoes!

Personal tour with English speaking guide for only 2 Euros each.Lasted aprox. an hour including a short video presentation andguided walk around the castle, including the tower with great views over the town.

The square fronting the castle, in the ancient area of Laval, is being upgraded and will give a pleasant frame to the structure. I have not seen inside, though I suspect there is little in the way of ancient artifacts due to destruction in the revolution.

Original and unspoilt in the old part of the town, set high up looking down towards the river and the Grande Rue.

tres beau un tres beau chateau avec differante architecture et de superbe objet d'epoqué ainsi qu'un retour dans le passsé avec les differante chose a lire sur l'ancien temps bref a faire o moins une fois si vous ete de laval

un beau château ! , mais une ville sans âme , et triste ! commerçants peu aimable , et à part le château rien à voir , séjour triste !

Il castello di laval, visitabile con guida in inglese o francese (al costo di soli 2 euro a persona) merita una visita per l'ottima conservazione del sito, la bella introduzione storica virtuale e la visita alla sommità della torre che regala una bella emozione...veramente bello !!

Le château est très bien entretenue et vient d’être rénové et les façades nettoyés, une visite captivantes et intéressantes. A ne pas rater si vous passé par Laval.

Nous avons fait une petite promenade détendante dans cette ravissante ville.La restauration de la partie plus récente du château est superbe.
