From the roundabout at the end of Le Racou, it is an hour's hike along the coastal path to Collioure. Lovely walk along the coast, bring swimming gear in the summer! You can also keep a bit more to the right and walk the road that goes along the carriageway, and you'll arrive in Collioure in 30 minutes.

Our family did this walk in July 2013. We set off from Argeles and headed towards Collioure. The tourist office couldn't give us a map but assured us it was well signposted and it pretty much is. Luckily we had decided to wear walking shoes - and they are very much needed! The stretch from Argeles to Plage de L'Ouille is beautiful - amazing views of the sea and the rocky coastline. However, there are a lot of steep steps, both up and down, some of which had cables running across them. When we got to Plage de L'Ouile we thought we had lost the path and then to my horror realised it was up and over the cliff.(Not an easy prospect if you suffer rom vertigo) This part of the path is in an appalling state and I certainly wouldn't attempt it with younger children (ours are teenagers). (There is a disclaimer from the town warning that walkers use this at thier own risk and that they will not be held responsible for any accidents) There were 'steps' cut into the cliff but they are extremely eroded. Then you encounter a huge number of steps edged by logs which are loose and cetainly not safe to step on. There used to be a handrail.This is now attached to the wire fence, all of whose support posts have come loose, rendering the handrail useless and dangerous. However, the views from the top and the approach to Collioure made it worthwile. Decided I couldn't face the dodgy section again and got the boat back across the harbour. If attempting this path in summer you need to take plenty of water, have a reasonable level of fitness and wear hiking boots / shoes. It took us about 2 hours to do this walk. It was extremely hot and the heat slowed us down!

Catch a boat from Argeles Port to Colliure then walk back along the sentier after petit dejeuner or lunch . A little cafe at Les Criques provides a further refreshment break!

Indeed this path takes you up - and up and up - to where you have wonderful views of the sea and also views inland of the snow-covered (in May) mountains. DO NOT ATTEMPT IT IF YOU ARE NOT FIT! I did not realize it would be such a challenge and probably shouldn't have done it ; I was quite scared at some points. I did it with a friend who is also in her sixties and it proved to be quite a risky thing to do. I can't comment on any of the other stretches but this one did involve lots of climbing. There are wooden rails to hold on to (only on some stretches of the path) and some of them have become partly detached. There was a strong Tramontane the day we went and I sincerely hope that the wind did not knock the loose rail into anyone and cause them to lose their footing!!

Très belle balade de Argeles à Collioure. Il faut compter une heure et c'est un excellent moyen de découvrir Collioure en évitant les traditionnels bouchons en saison. Les vues sur la mer sont très jolies

On en prend plein les yeux ..... La panorama est superbe et offre des points de vue incroyables. C'est sympa de faire cette ballade le dimanche pour profiter du marché de Collioure et de revenir sur Argeles en bateau .... Journée réussie.

Si vous souhaitez vous balader en profitant de beaux paysages et de l air marin sans oublier le soleil du sud, alors n hésitez pas!! marchez et empreintez le sentier du littoral! déconseillé toutefois aux personnes avec enfants en bas age et poussettes!!

Il est a faire d'excellentes promenades pour se delassser le long des plages , des belles criques. Visiter la ville de Collioure, visité chateau, musée...

Trés beau sentier avec des vues magnifiques et encore de bonnes odeurs de la nature en cette fin d'été indien...un régal!!
