Waouh!!!!! No word to describe such a beautiful environment. Go there and enjoy the view, the road to reach Navacelles and just take it easy.

We viewed the Cirque de Navacelles from the vantage points and then drove down to the town. Hardier souls can walk if they choose to. We had a great lunch in Mas Guilhou and then paddled in La Vis and watched people diving under the water fall. A real Jem of a place and well worth a visit.

It is an amazing site. Surprising and beautiful. However once you've spent half an hour looking at it, that's pretty much it. We went on to the pont du diable which was great. A super swimming area with a beautiful bridge and great facilities. We loved it.

An unbelievable "rift" . The road down was a bit frightening, very twisty with hairpin bends. Quite a long drive down but well worth it.

We planned our trip to go here and were not disappointed. But you do need to go into Navacelle to complete the experience. Watch out for the Cromlech stone circles and standing stones.

We were there early in the morning and it was empty of any other visitors. This is the Grand Canyon on a much more human scale and not tainted by the tawdriness of tourism.

VERY scenic. A hairy descent from the Viewing Station on St Maurice side (difficult for 2 vehicles to pass in some places if one of them is a bit big) and definitely not for the faint hearted. Luckily we left the Cirque (by bike) on the opposite side, toward Blandas, and it was much more gradual. We stayed overnight in the village at the bottom of the Cirque, in L'Ammonite B&B, which was a real gem, and just loved the tranquility and the sheer treasure of finding this place and SLEEPING in it! I would imagine walkers would love it.

The view of the Cirque de Navacelles remains breathtaking. however the new tourist centre, now completed, us a hug disappointment. Whist a great deal of money has obviously been spent, the results are a shop which us very large and poorly stocked, and a good size restaurant that has no toilets. Talk about regression. it does have the weirdest toilets I have seen about 50 metres. The building us huge, but the inside only presents 2 toilets, which are communal, SIX wash hand basins inside and a further one outside. The interior is made from metal and makes the most tremendous noise when opening and shutting the doors. kids love it. Not a great example of French architectureThe only thing of ant ancestral note was an excellent video about how water was found and used by the local inhabitants over the last 5000 years. Aortic from this the whole thing merely represents a vast waste of money, whilst it could have been a major historical centre adjoining a fantastic heritage site. Shame on you!!!

We did the trip to see the Cirque de Navacelles after the Grotto de Demoiselles. What an incredible site. Driving into the area from Ganges end looks like it is just a mountain top. We parked in the car park and walked the designated route to the view point. A-MAZE-ING. Who cannot resist educating your kids on geography and geology as well!!!! Regretted trying to fit in too much as there were a number of walks from the top and half way down we could have done had we had the time. If you are a hiker - plan to spend the day and see the Moulin and walk the valley, if you are a car sight seer, Don't miss it, but do have a wander around the village, and to the top of the rocky outcrop in the centre. There are restaurants in the village if required.

I had first seen this site in a book referenced some 40 years ago and when the occasion arose to visit I was not disappointed. Even though we had no time to descend to the village and could only spend time at the newly opened visitor centre and viewpoints it was still more than well worth the trip. Staying with friends at La Roque the journey to this site alone was spectacular but when we arrived we were met with a scene of such spectacular beauty I would have been prepared to endure a far far worse journey knowing that the end result would be so magnificent and jaw droppingly inspiring. Words just simply aren't enough, you must see this site for yourselves. We are already planning to return and complete the trip with a visit to the village below.
