Great park in the central part of the city. Got many birds and fishs you can watch very closely. The gardens were ment to be a lot bigger but the reconstruction was too costly, so it was left as it is. Don't forget to visit a great ancient roman temple in the left corner of the garden. And everything is absolutely free!

Originally location of today's town of Nimes provide housing Celts. Today it is a nice city with the largest arena in the whole of France, there is also the Maison Carree, Carré d'Art, Porte d'Auguste here. I am most impressed by the Jardins de la Fontaine from the 18th century.

Excellent place to visit, plenty of shade under the trees on hot days. Several good cafes and restaurants surroud or are in this park most with cool ice cream etc.

Wonderful park in the heart of nimes. If you like cardio, you can climb right to the top, where there is a Roman tower. You can pay to go up the tower, but we thought the view was nice enough without climbing. Lots of peaceful places to relax.

These have to be the most beautiful gardens that I have contemplated. The confluence of wild and ordered beauty makes one's mind reel a bit. A true flaneur's paradise. Take the route(s) up to La Tour Magne.

Very well-kept gardens. We visited on a sunny, warm day in late October and loved strolling around. The volume of water being produced by the spring was a surprise. The temple of Diana was interesting and I recommend you climb to the top of the Tour de Magne at the top of the hill for spectacular views over Nimes. Best if you buy a ticket coverning this attraction, along with the Arena and Maison Caree (Roman temple).

The walk along the Quais de la Fontaine from Antonin Square (near the tourist office) leading to the garden is tree-lined. Close to the main gate, locals play pétanque and children are on skates, bikes or are simply running around. The fountains, the statues and the pools with fish are impressive. There are two Roman remains here: the temple of Diana and the Tour Magne. The walk to the tower is an opportunity to see the sprawling garden, which is apparently considered one of the greatest in Europe. As some have mentioned, there are different uphill routes, some are paved, other are stairs and still others are twisty steps.I didn't see many blooming plants maybe because it's autumn, but it was a very pleasant walk to the top of the hill and to the tower, where nice views of the city can be seen. At the entrance of the tower, there are good explanations in French and English about the area and the tower itself.

Stroll across the tree lined walkways, through twisty foliage covered paths, and along flights of stone steps as you explore all that these gardens have to offer. Choose your route according to your mobility and energy levels - the Tour Magne is right at the top, for those looking for great views but a rather intense trek.Perfect for kids, families, older people or just those looking for some fresh air and beautiful greenery.

I'm shocked that the Nimes Arena isn't rated as the top attraction in this gorgeous city. It's true that the gardens are beautiful and expansive; however, it seems like the city needs to invest in some cleaning up and maintenance particularly near the ruins of the Temple of Diana. The gardens showcase several ponds and grassy areas with manicured flower beds as well as some more wild-type vegetation as you climb the gardens up toward the tower at its pinnacle. It's a nice place to spend some time relaxing, strolling, and observing the flora and fauna on a sunny day.
