7 km hike around Cap Ferrett from St. Jean de Cap Ferrett. Stunning vistas of the Riviera, rocky cliffs, views of Eze, Monoco and the mountains. Plan on spending a morning or afternoon. The walk is not strenuous however therefore stairs to climb and the path is rocky. Every time I think it could not get any better than this it does. Plan on frequent stops for photos. There were people catching mussels, sea life, sail boats. Wonderful day!

We stayed in Nice, took the bus (20 minutes) to Francheville and walked from there around the peninsula to St Jean. The hike was great with amazing views. It was easy to walk, paved on many parts, but you need good shoes. It took us 3 hours to get around but we walked quite slowly (admiring the view). The villas you can see are a sight too. St Jean itself was pretty sleepy. We found Francheville prettier and more welcoming. The bus 100 took us back to Nice in half an hour for just 1,50 euros.

The views on this walk are amazing , out to sea , on the coast and back across the the mainland. The villas are grand , the rocks and the beaches rugged and the sea very blue . Look out for the sea life , warm and cold currents meet off the Cape bringing food for whales and dolphins.Look out for the signs to the Belgian Cemetery and visit the amazing chapel with its Russian style giant statue of the Virgin Mary and Child - breathtaking. Finally do visit the small David Niven Square next to his villa on the coast. The cost of getting here from Nice - 1.5 e on the number 81 - very busy but the best few euros you will spend during your day.

The walk around the Cap is very scenic and easy in so much as its fairly flat (more up and down on the west side), with the shade on the west side in the morning in winter. Its a fair way if you do it all the way to Villefranche and there are no toilets (that you would dream of using) open at that time of year and if your a lady needing a pee your in for a hard time, not much better for gents. Some areas with derelict tagged buildings also let down badly what should be a really nice walk. We combined it with lunch at St Jean Cap Ferrat and that worked nicely. It get fairly busy on a Sunday even in winter. We have walked or cycled most of the coast and mountains in the area and whist we sort of enjoyed this one we won't be going back in a hurry.

This is a lovely place to visit if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Nice to Monaco. It is mainly lived in by the mega rich, with huge mansions everywhere. We visited it by bus from Nice (number 81 bus), which was an excellent way of getting there. The walks are fairly gentle as long as you have decent footwear, and the views are stunning. The port is very nice, with a number of decent restaurants. This is a place I would happily retire to, if only I had the money to afford it!

We like so much to walk around the peninsula. We take the route starting from the port, pass the Le Voille d 'or, then take path close to the water, turn left to the Madona, up we go and breath taking view of Eze Village, Beaulieu sur mer, the mountain and the sea. The cemetery for the heroes of Malta and the little church keeps you humble

the villa and gardens are so well kept...8 gardens with a different theme and each overlooks the sea...the villa has pink marble and pink decor...the dancing fountain plays to music every twenty minutes...we took beautiful photos...also visit the Grand Hotel located at the end of the peninsula...we hired a guide Sylvie Di Cristo who took us to hidden panoramic view overlooking riviera...some abandoned military posts...a safe hike I with high view down to the ocean...so worth the whole day tour...included are visit to La Turbie, Roquebrunne and shopping in old town of Nice for tablecloth otherwise sold in St.Paul de Vence...

This is a great and easy tour of the half island. Follow the coastline, the path is well marked. The path follows the shore and gives you great views over the coastline. It takes about 2,5 hours to do the whole roundtrip. Good walking shoes required.

The town was, quaint, really nice right on the water with a small marina. Great view. Has little shops and local restaurants. Stayed only for a short time but worth the stop
