Beautiful cathedral but unfortunately there is so much renovation work going on in the church that you can't see it at its best.

The walls are actually plain, but this cathedral has beautiful windows. Free to visit hence well worth walking through.

Quemper is a wonderful city filled with life. We came for the Festival de Cornouaille and enjoyed every bit of it. The Cathedrale St-Corentin is truly a beautiful church not to be missed if people are in the city. However there occurred a strange scene inside the church that simply left me baffled. After being inside the church for a few minutes I witnessed a man screaming at another and forcefully pushing him out of it. The man turned out to be the church caretaker and was from the Netherlands. He told me that the other man had not been wearing anything to cover his upper body (It was a very warm day) and had to be evacuated. I have visited many churches but never have I experiences anything like this before. A highly unprofessional behavior in such a beautiful place making the experience not as enjoyable as it should have been.

Well worth an easy climb. Start at the tourist office and take the sloping path up past the Chateau d'Eau and on to the Promenade. A different view of this magnificent building from peaceful surroundings.

A beautiful monument in the heart of the historical quarters of Quimper. I was in awe of the refine, rich beauty inside.I loved the stain glass windows & the gardens outside of this jewel monument. If you want to know more, then I would recommend the guided tour, a must. I did and learned so much of its hidden mystic treasures.

Should you find yourself in or close to Quimper, and you have a little time to spare, a visit to this magnificent cathedral is strongly recommended. You can't miss it. It stands right in the centre of the city and the steeples are very visible landmarks. Externally, the architecture is quite superb. Enter, stand inside the front door, take in the soaring roof, then cast your eyes forward to the altar and wonder if your eyes are deceiving you, or if the entire building actually does curve to the left? Then, if nothing else, take some time to admire the stunning 15th century stained-glass windows and the stories they tell. And there is lots more to see, and to enjoy.Cathedrale St-Corentin is very unusual, and well worth a visit ...

I suspect not as well known as some other cathedrals but don't miss this one. Beautiful stained glass windows and look at the fine detail on the stone. Unmissable!!

this is where it all starts--the heart of Quimper--there is an exposition inside showing the evolution of christianity --quite interesting

The 15th and 16th century stained glass windows are particularly fine. There are willing guides and loads of information in many languages.

We realised near the end of our walk around the cathedral that we had walked past little pieces of saints! YES real saints bits of bones. We were amazed at the detail of maps and the such on the wall outside and some amazing stain glass windows - we could make direct comparison to Canterbury as we live near by and the architecture is very very catholic and french hints around the cathedral were evident. We also saw the time line of human history and could make out some of what to do and where to go. When you purchase a candle you can put the euro or 2 euro for a larger candle into the box with a slot in and say a prayer. I wouldn't say this kind of attraction was for the very young children as it is difficult to keep them distracted and quiet to be respectful of others - our little one wanted to blow out the candles - which had us then wrestling him out of the cathedral for a stern word! Small in comparison to Canterbury but with many amazing catholic relics paintings and architectural gems, we were very glad trip advisor sent us here!
