This museum is well worth a visit, you will have a good 3/4 hours in here. Lots of fun things to do for all ages, rock pools, not like UK, where you can actually touch the creatures and investigate their habitats. Fantastic virtual boat experience. Learn to tie all different kinds of knot. Conger Eel was HUGE...our family loved it.

We were really impressed and learned a lot about the fishermen of Etaples and the different ways of fishing. We also enjoyed the aquaria and being able to get so close to the fish. A lovely shop there too.

Quite a small museum, run by the local fishing community. Guides are sometimes available but sadly not when we visited.Very educational - we learned a lot and gained new respect for the tough lives of sea fishermen; hard work and dangerous.Entry price was low at 3 euros a head.

This is a surprise. For about 6E for adults and 4.50E for kids, you can spend a very informative and fun hour finding out about fish and fishing. There are some impressive species in the tanks and kids will love seeing them, with the highlight of playing (literally) with rays in the hands-on tank. They just love being tickled under their chins - the rays that is. The invariable gift shop isn't a rip-off either.

We enjoyed the whole experience and learned a lot about the life of the local fisherman, the sea, the technology used by fishermen, and of course, the fish.A very interactive exhibition, with lots to see and do. It took a couple of hours to go round and make the most of all the exhibits.

Ne pas hésiter à suivre la visite guidée, une femme de marin a été notre guide, elle a su se mettre à la portée du public pour toutes ses explications, enfants comme adultes y ont trouvé leur compte. De nombreuses manipulations et situations permettent aux enfants de mémoriser et d'intégrer les explications sur le milieu de la pêche en mer...quant aux poissons, plusieurs bassins tactiles permettent de les visualiser mais aussi de les toucher et de se rendre compte de leur diversité dans la mer du Nord.Tarif très abordable par rapport à la grande qualité de la visite, ne pas hésiter d'y aller avec de très jeunes enfants.

Nous nous sommes rendus ce week end a Mareis et cela nous a beaucoup plu. La visite pour 2 adultes + 2enfants est au prix de 18€. La visite peut se faire "libre" ou "guider". Je vous recommande vivement la visite guidée (c'est le meme prix) car sans guide vous allez vite faire le tour autrement. Le guide est super sympa il vous faire découvrir beaucoup de choses sur la vie des pêcheurs, leurs techniques de pêche, il vous apprend a faire un nœud marin, vous fait decouvrir les differentes especes de poissons , le nombre de bateaux de peche etc... se retrouver dans le faux bateau de peche (avec son ordinateur de bord etc...) est tres réel ! on a l'impression d'etre comme sur un vrai bateau... decouvrir aussi le bassin tactile avec les raies etc... a beaucoup plu aux enfants... Ayant fait par 3 fois Nausicaa et bien nous y avons trouvé autant d'enchantement grace à notre guide ... Merci Mr le guide vous avez été un parfait instructeur. Au cas où Mareis possède un ascenseur pour les personnes agées ou handicapées.
