Beautiful gardens in a lovely sheltered valley, well worth a visit. We particularly liked the Claude Monet rose bushes.We didn't like the lack of tea and coffee and snacks in the visitors centre - only full meals at lunch time! Luckily local bars were pleased to serve us.

this is in two halves. there is a stunning abbey with a lot of history. the abbey itself is only through a guided tour in french although there is an english handout. For me it was well worth it. Then there is the gardens which are superbly maintained. We would visist again as it has such a peaceful feeling. I use ann electric scooter and all parts were accessable. THere is ramps on some of the steps into parts of the abbey.

This is a very well maintained garden (the major attraction for me!) with an olden day abbey as a backdrop. The abbey also serves as a B&B and there is a plant sale and small book shop. The location is quite remote but quite easy to find using a traditional road map and only about an hour's drive from Calais. There are plenty of parking spaces. Visit is by timed visit with a tour guide for the abbey itself.

We had a very enjoyable few hours at Abbaye de Valloires. The gardens are absolutely fabulous - so much to see! Our favourites were the wild flower meadow, the rose garden and the ornamental grasses.The old Abbey is also worth a visit but you have to go on a guided tour which is only in French - and it takes an hour!There is a small cafeteria at the gardens entrance but the choice was limited and I feel you would be better off eating in one of the local villages.

This was a planned visit when staying at Le Touquet.Satnav or good map reading is required to negotiate the narrow lanes to this Cistercian Abbey.The first vista of the gardens is breathtaking with the view of the magnificent building over beautifully kept lawns and immaculate gardens. Not a weed in sight and every plant or tree clearly labelled.We did not take the guided tour of the Abbey but thoroughly enjoyed the layout, design and features of one of the best garden experiences we have had in France.Highly recommended!

The gardens are alwaays spectacular, you can get a joint ticket for the Abbey as well. The tea rooms are very reasonable lots of flower teas available as well as soup, but remember french lunch times 12- 2pm.

Nous avons passé un très bon moment. L'abbaye est magnifique et en très bon état malgré son lourd passé. La visite était très bien mené par un jeune homme passionné et surtout passionnant. Je vous conseille de visiter les jardins qui y sont accolés (possibilité d'acheter un billet valable pour les deux lieux). Cela vaut vraiment le détour!Le seul bémol est qu'il est difficile de trouver le monument.

Le détour est mérité, l'accès est facilité par la programmation de son GPS avec les coordonnées :Latitude : 50° 20' 30'' N et longitude: 1° 50' 7'' E. Sinon seul Argoules est reconnu par le GPS.Il est recommandé de vérifier les horaires des deux visites journalières. Nous recommandons de prendre un billet couplé avec les jardins de l'abbaye (possibilité de faire la visite en deux fois entrecoupée par la visite de l'abbaye).La visite guidée obligatoire est très bien documentée par le guide. Cet édifice possède un un long passé historique tout en ayant de nos jours un panel d'activités sociales, culturelles et évènementielles.Le temps gris d'automne ne perturbe pas le plaisir de la visite.

Se promener, révasser sur les bancs, en respirant les effluves des fleurs et écouter le chant des oiseaux. Que faire d'autre dans ce petit éden, face à cette magnifique abbaye ?En profiter un maximum !

un peu d'histoire ça fait pas de mal très joli endroit et historiqueun parc magnifique et superbement entretenueendroit manifestement rempli d'histoire gravure et endroit très apaisant
