Marianske Square is a very nice historical square in a city center of Zilina in Slovakia. There are a lot of places for take a coffee or a good Slovak beer. It is a very interesting place for a walking.

Marianske Square and Andrej Hlinka Square, two similar squares next to one another. Not much to be seen, several restaurant, cafes, hotels, fountains and shops around. No more than 10 min walk from both train and bus station. Public toilets, big shopping centre and visitor centre located on lower Andrej Hlinka Square, climb the stairs, pass the church and you reach Marianske Square.

First time visitor to Zilina and wouldn't hesitate at going there again. The squares, a lower and the higher are similar in there lay out, the lower having water fountains the upper, more bar/restaurant culture.You are made to feel welcome by the towns people, understanding one another a little tricky as this isn't an out and out tourist resort with traders trying to sell you mementos and all the other cheap merchandise which comes with them,so brush up on your 'signing moves/gestures' or point.Currency is the Euro.Police will arrest first and speak to you when they are ready, so dont be a idiot abroad.Enjoy your visit.

With this being Hull city's first match in Europe , 700 fans attended and most must have visited here.It is the focal point of the town and is a large area ringed with pivariums and cafes. From brilliant hot sunshine to a biblical thunderstorm in the blinking of an eye, we were well looked after and made to feel welcome.Interesting buildings, old churches, they are all round the square but I might have more time to explore next time.We were warned of heavy handed police, riot squads, gangs of youths ready to pick us off, and what did we get - friendly helpful locals making us welcome. Great place - Great people

there are many choices and by both Western costs and those of Western Europe the food and drinks are a bargain and still have good quality.The square needs a lot of restoration work to maintain the building facardes but still a delightful and vibrant place

I have been to Zilina many a time. It is beautiful in every season of the year. In summer there are a lot of people in the square, admiring the monument to SS Cyril and Methodius and mountains. Before X-mas and Easter you may taste hot beverages and drinks in kiosks and delicious trdelnik and cottage smoked cheese. You will find a nice cathedral there. People, like anywhere in Slovakia, are very friendly. From Zilina you may go to Budatin castle or to Martin. Rajecke Teplice are only 30 minutes away from it. Have you packed your bag already? Центральная часть Жилины. Небольшая площадь с маленькими красивыми домиками. Легко найти. Если приедите на поезде в Жилину, то прямая дорога от вокзала приведет Вас сюда. Перед рождетсвом тут проходят ярмарки с традиционной колбаской, вареным вином. Даже каток. Если Вы путешествуете на машине, то можете ее запарковать перед площадью в торговом центре Аупар или Мираже. До 3 часов парковка бесплатно. Посещение этой площади можно совместить с походами по торогрым центрам и обедом в уютном ресторанчике, которых тут немного, но все же есть

Очень красивое место в центре старого города, с интересной архитектурой. Здесь соседствуют стиль барокко, ренессанс и модерн.

Жилина, конечно, маленький словацкий город, но не стоит мерить его мерками китайских городов, ведь он входит в тройку крупнейших городов Словакии!Марианская площадь - центр старого города - вызвала у меня чувство дежавю: Тарту? Вильнюс? Инсбрук? Таллин? Вы понимаете, о чем я говорю?Ясно, что на этой площади (площадке, можно было бы сказать) есть и уютные кафе, и милые сувенирные лавочки, и фонтан, и памятный крест, и костел.Уж коли вас занесло в Жилину, то мимо этой площади вам не пройти :)
