This small fisherman village has got a very special seaside walk. On the shore you can see small fishermen wood boats and, on the sea, there are the "small" stones. Polyphemus, after being made blind by Ulysses, in a rage, throws stones to the sea, missing the boat that Ulysses used to flee. Following the legend those are the stones that were thrown. During the day, paying a symbolic fee, the fishermen will bring you to this "islands", and expect them to loudly singing sicilian songs!!!! The village is also the set of "I Malavoglia", a very important book written by Verga. As if that is not enough, there are few places that offer a very remarkable granita. It does definitely worth stopping!

Aci Trezza is a small village, very central on the east coast of Sicily between Catania and Taormina. Quite during daytime and alive in the evening. Nice restaurants and bars. Would definitely go again.

This hotel was lovely and clean with spacious rooms and a nice pool. The pool was never too full and the sun loungers comfortable. The breakfast was good. The owners were so helpful. We were a party of 11, 4 mums and 7 children aged between 6 and 15. We do not speak any Italian. The owners were happy to book us a mini bus to the Water Park (well worth a visit), Railway station (quickest way to get to Taormina) and airport. My niece left a ring in the safe. I emailed from the UK and got a prompt reply. The owners found the ring and posted it recorded delivery straight away. I gave them my credit card number for payment, but they did it free of charge. The only downside was crossing the busy road when going to the village - just a short walk away.

A local took us to this nice fishing village. Difficult parking, but nice restaurants, bars by the sea.As others have mentioned - off the main track and worth it.Ask locals for best parking. Not straight forward.

We stayed two nights in Aci Trezza at La Scivola Rooms (great little B&B). Aci Trezza is a good base for Etna excursions and for those who want to avoid the crowds in Taormina or the hustle and bustle of Catania. There aren't any sandy beaches directly in Aci Trezza, but there's a nice promenade along the water and we enjoyed the evening passegiata with the locals.

Nice village, a decent place if you want to stretch your legs. The sights are quite nice but it's not the kind of place you'd want to spend a whole day.

if you visit Catania or Acireale don't miss it..it will take just 1 or 2 hours to see it,more if you want enjoy the beach or the see doing some escursion......anyway we liked it and it is very nice at the sunset...romantic and with the view of the Faraglioni your feeling will tell you to stay there longer...

We liked the town, not for any particular reason, it was quiet with great ocean views, locals were friendly and the hotel was only a few minutes walk to the town. Not a town for swimming in the ocean - however if you get the chance visit Taormina which is about 50 mins drive. Excellent for swimming and very lively town.

We loved the little streets leading to the sea and small boats. The bars and restaurants were good and it was relaxing to watch the activities of the town. The Lido was really good.

Lovely place full of myths and legends. For those that have read Odyssey by Homer here they will find the place where Odysseus blinded the Cyclop.
