A theatre where he never even played is not worth the time or money to visit. It's quaint and vaguely interesting but I wouldn't bother unless your passion is all things Verdi

This is a lovely very small theatre, but misnamed because Verdi never set foot in it. Since it was far too small to put on an opera and there is not enough room for an orchestra, Verdi was against it's being built and felt it was an unnecessary expense. Still worth a look as it has a lovely feel, is included in the tourist ticket, and is right next to the tourist office where you buy the ticket so it is not out the way.

The small theater is in the city center, actually there´s not so much to see, so I d like to visit it when there is a production or something going on.. In summer it wasn´t soo interesting, a small opera house..

This small theater, which seats only 300, was built by the people of Busseto in tribute to native son Giuseppe Verdi, the great opera composer. It occupies a portion of a 13th century palace which now also houses the city hall. It faces a beautiful lawn and piazza, and in front is a wonderful bronze statue of Verdi. The theater was opened in 1868, when Verdi was 55 years old. He opposed it from the beginning, thinking it uneconomical, and is said never to have set foot inside. It is certainly true that the cost of producing an opera is such that more than 300 tickets must be sold to break even, and for this reason the theater has not been used often for opera. However there is an occasional performance for special occasions, and the annual Verdi Festival in Parma each October has typically been producing one opera there with several performances. It is a treat to see opera there (I've seen two, Ernani and Attila), partly because of the intimate setting and partly because it is a very beautiful theater, rather like La Fenice in Venice or San Carlo in Naples on a much smaller scale. If you cannot see a performance there, at least try to get a look inside.

Il palazzo in cui è ospitato il Teatro Giuseppe Verdi già da solo ha il suo fascino, poi se si entra in questo "museo da vivere" ci si immerge ancora di più nell'atmosfera che si respirava oltre un secolo fa. Si trova sulla piazza centrale. Sono stati fatti alcuni lavori per l'adeguamento alle norme recenti sulla sicurezza, ma, se la guida non l'avesse fatto notare, non ci saremmo accorti che la tapezzeria era stata sostituita. L'amodernamento è stato eseguito in modo molto curato e fedele all'originale. L'acustica è meravigliosa. E' un piccolo gioiello che vale la pena di andare a visitare e, perchè no, da vivere. A me fa molto piacere vedere che queste opere vengono tutt'oggi utilizzate e non vengono solo conservate come una reliquia da non toccare. Complimenti al Comune, che lo gestisce.

Un piccolo teatro ricco di storia e fascino d'altri tempi.La visita dura circa 30 minuti,ma più che sufficienti per ammirare lo splendore ed immaginarne lo sfarzo al tempo dei Pallavicini. Ottima anche la posizione su cui si affaccia: una splendida piazzetta luogo di ritrovo anche di attività sportive.Da ammirare i pavimenti e le decorazioni originali.

Por motivos particulares, Verdi nunca esteve neste teatro. Pequeno e modesto, vale a visita como parte do Circuito Verdi em Busseto. Bem cuidado e apresenta espetáculos regularmente. Há visitas guiadas e os recepcionistas são super simpáticos.

Visita guidata piacevole di 10 - 15 minuti al teatro e a due ambienti collegati. Guida/accompagnatrice competente e disponibile ma complessivamente prezzo del biglietto troppo alto per il servizio.

Piccola perla incastonata in una rocca già di proprietà della famiglia nobile dei Pallavicini, successivamente acquistata dal Comune di Busseto e ristrutturata con finanziamenti privati e pubblici. La sua collocazione in fondo ad una piazza conservata in tutto lo splendore del passato, a cui si è aggiunta una splendida statua del mitico Giuseppe Verdi, è un richiamo al periodo storico del grande maestro compositore. Il teatro è di modeste dimensioni, e tale non poteva non essere in considerazione della popolazione che gravita in questi luoghi, ma ben tenuto ed accogliente, conserva in pieno il fascino del passato.
