This place could be seen when you arrive at malpensa airport, it's considered to be a landmark of the town, good to walk around, take some pictures and enjoy some gelato.

Our friend explained that the actual statue of the patron Saint Gaudenzio of Novara is only viewable in January during the celebration of his onomastico. Some impressive architecture. Enormous statue of the Saviour that is inexplicably large and imposing until you find it was atop the tower originally. The dimensions then make sense.

The Dome of St. Gaudenzio is the most visible landmark of Novara. You can notice it by approaching the town from any direction by car as well as when landing at the nearby Malpensa Airport. The 121 metres of the Dome make it the tallest brick building in Europe. A lift in the bell tower located by the Dome will make you enjoy a sight from above.

The Basilica di San Gaudenzio is a place I've wanted to visited for years, and without dissapointment. This stunning cathedral is vissable from miles around and certainly worth a visit if your in Piedmont.

All churches in Italy have their own charm. San Gaudenzio (hardly a "top-ten" in name recognition) is a lovely, impressive basilica.

Consigliato
