Hard to find but once you are there you don't regret. Flavio and his mother is super nice and let you try all the wines, with additional snacks. Flavio can describe and tell all about winemaking on a brilliant and interesting way. We visited BUT on our last day in Piedmont, and the only thing we regret is that we did not save more space in the trunk for a few more boxes of their wines.

We looked for wine tasting in the last minute. Usaually you need to order the visit in advence. Flavio, one of the owners welcome us with a big smile and short notice and show us the vinyards and made us feel like home. The wine was really great and he makes wine from Dolceto, Barbera and Arniese (maybe I forgot something...). He answer all our questions and we learned a lot. after that he took us for lunch and it was the best experience in our trip!

We dropped into Azienda Agricola But on our last trip to Costigliole D'Asti and were very warmly welcomed by Flavio and his Mother. Flavio tore himself from his work in the vineyard to share his passion for wine, local food and the land. All of his wines were superb and he takes great pains to explain the grape varieties, the production process and the best accompaniments. We were treated to local cheeses and local salami both of which were great with the wine. We would really recommend that you take time out to visit you will not be disappointed.

We found Flavio's vineyard by mistake and what a wonderful mistake it was. His home and winemaking facility is worth coming off the main road for. It's along Strada Fontanavi which is a small road joining Strada Provinciale 23 and Strada Provinciale 59 South of Costiglioli. It's probably slightly easier taking the 23 and coming from Costiglioli, about 2km after joining the 23 , take a left turn just before a small industrial looking building on the left. Soon after take another left on Strada Communale Fontanavi. Azienda Agricole BUT is on the left after about 2km. we called by, as I said by accident and Flavio appeared from his work and then showed us around his wine making facility before we sat down and tried some of his wine with his mother. We liked all of them so much we walked away with a case of each. We had great fun that evening with friends trying them and then trying to blind guess each one. Strangely, no headache this morning which must be down to the quality of the wine. We have never bought wine from so close to its source before and will do so again.

We chanced upon this place last year as we had been given a bottle of wine from this azienda. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to buy more. We have visited a few times and are always greeted so warmly by Flavio and his mother. We have bought several varieties of their wines and taken them back to England where they are enjoyed greatly by our friends. I would thoroughly recommend a tasting session.

I vini, bianchi e rossi, sono ottimi e il posto è magnifico. L'accoglienza è speciale: arrivi e sei a casa. Più che consigliato è d'obbligo.

Siamo stati questo sabato per festeggiare un addio al celibato. Cercavamo proprio una azienda a livello familiare. Dopo una interessante spiegazione sulla cantina, siamo passati alla degustazione prima dei bianchi e poi dei rossi... i vini sono ottimi ma la loro barbera è qualcosa di indescrivibile... senza parlare dell'accoglienza... volevamo fare un aperitivo e ci hanno servito una cena... un consiglio x tutti: merita la pena andarli a trovare ed assaggiare i loro vini!!!Grazie mille Flavio!!!

Sono stato con amici a visitare questa cantina in Costigliole. Il proprietario Flavio è gentilissimo. Ci ha fatto vedere gli stupendi colori autunnali dei suoi vigneti e successivamente la sua cantina. Molto bella la sala barriques. Produce Barbera d Asti e passito. Da assaggiare entrambi. Ne siamo entusiasti. Prezzi modici e qualità del vino eccellente. Da ritornare.

Ho conosciuto l'Azienda Agricola But circa tre anni fa ed ho potuto apprezzare i vini che Flavio produce con tanta passione: ciò che è contenuto nelle sue bottiglie è veramente una sorpresa.Da allora nella nostra cantina non mancano i suoi vini, tutti degni di nota e con i quali siamo sicuri di fare sempre bella figura.
