It was a sunny February morning when we took a small boat from Lido (not a big boat that leaves from the centre) to Isola dei Pescatori. We paid 30 euros (two persons) for the return ticket. The "captain" of this boat first took us to the Isola Bella and waited us half an hour and after took us to Isola dei Pescatori. We stayed there the whole day. The island is like from the fairy tale. Narrow streets with ancient buildings with tiny restaurants, cafes, shops etc. There were a couple of restaurants open that day and a handful of tourists, but can imagine that when the summer time begins the place is packed. There are about 30 people living in this island all year around and we could easily see how it is when there are no tourists. The place is definitely worth visiting. The island takes you far away from your daily routines. Picnic there would be a great idea. We had to eat in the restaurant that was open and were disappointed. There are very good restaurants in the island, but unfortunately they were still closed.

One of the 3 islands on Lake Maggiore. This is a still working fishing village so is small but worth a trip to look round the tight small streets and to look but possibly also build in a trip to Isola Bella too. Not very big and as working village on the lake no much here.

After visiting Isola Bella island we came to this small island. it only takes a few minutes to walk around it and apart from St. Victor church there is little other than shops and pricey restaurants.

Not my cup of tea. Mostly tourist shops and pricey restaurants. If you could skip Pescatori and just see Bella and Madre, that would be best.

We went here as part of of a 3 island tour. We ended up just having lunch a look round the little shops as there isn't much else to do.

This is part of the 3 islands visit. I recommend to skip it. It's only restaurants and shops. Restaurants are expensive and not worth their value. Kiosks offer beverages but also expensive. There is nothing really to visit.

our second visit - last time lunch of one course and a drink cost us E50 so this time we came prepared with a picnic lunch from Carrefour in Stresa: its pleasant enough when the sun is out but you would be better using your time to visit Isola Bella and lunch in Stresa where there are some more reasonable options

I liked very much this tiny island.. Its beautiful, very colorful, with such lovely cobbled pathways and nice small restaurants!! You can spend there 3-4 hours, see the small church, have a lunch or a dinner, strolling around in the back streets.. Its lovely really!!!You can be there by boat, very easily from Stresa or Baveno or elsewhere. There are many boats going there, so you can choose your time for visiting, combining with something else in the lake.

The Fisherman's Island could be lovely, with narrow winding streets, great views of the lake and a small beach area. However, it has become overcrowded with "tat" shops selling all sorts of cheap souvenirs, some of which aren't even relevant to the island. I thought that there may have been a museum telling the story of the island and the fishing industry but I couldn't find anything explaining this, which was a shame, it seems as though they aren't interested in the culture of the island, but are concentrating more on the commercial operations.

It is worth stopping here between hitting Isola Bella and Isola Madre just to walk around and see the place. It doesn't take very long. Lots of restaurants, lots of souvenir shops. Imagine it without those and it will have a nicer feel. I would not invest much time in this island, but no reason not to make a quick stop.
