The reserve has beautiful secluded beaches backed by ancient olive groves. There are a number of walks and cycle tracks along the coast which are very pleasant, the visitor centre at Serranova organises a number of activities in summer.

We visited in the afternoon, (car park is 5 euros) and walked to the beach. There is a train but it is only a 5 minute walk. If you want some space be prepared to walk a bit as the first couple of beaches are jammed with loungers and umbrellas that you can rent. The sand is lovely but for a nature reserve the amount of litter is very disappointing, the beach didn't feel clean and you had to check before sitting down. On a more positive note the water is lovely and warm, if it is high tide watch out for rocks, and we enjoyed our afternoon. Would we return? No probably not.

We came here last week because recommendations were great, but we have never seen a beach as dirty as in torre guaceto. Lots and lots of dirt on the beach, how can this even be appointed a nature reserve?! Highly disappointing...

We visited the riserva and the beach. Fine there are places where nature richness and recreation have a place. The sandy beach in this region is quite popular. There is a parkingplace (5 euro). They bring you with a small train to the beacharea.

in april there are hardly any visitors.Due to the strong wind it can still be pretty cold in April. At "punta penna grossa" there is a stone wall at the beginning of the beach, which is a great place to sit (and enjoy the view of the crystal clear sea) protected from the wind.

I'm used to the Ionian Sea, which I find just beautiful, so I have always "snobbed" the Adriatic in a certain way... Well, Torre Guaceto is definitely an exception! I went in mid-August (which should be the worst period if you like uncrowded places) and the whole place was basically empty! Perhaps, everybody was at the private beach... That I don't know. I highly advice, anyways, the free-entrance area. There are many different scenarios, from sand to rocks, from nudists to families and you definitely won't get bored if you stay the whole day! Only thing: bring ANYTHING you might need! You won't find anything, but a vending machine at the parking lot (which isn't that close to the beach). Enjoy!

We've been to quite a few nice beaches, but this was our favorite. The beach and water are pristine (just a few km to the north we visited a beach the day before that had all sorts of garbage washing up and on the sand). The food includes some (pricy) local, organic, delicious dishes. There are plenty of interesting fish to observe while snorkeling. There are loungers and umbrellas to rent if you want, but there's plenty of room to set up your own blanket even on a sunny day. Parking is four Euros, to be paid upon exit. And you can walk or take a cute trolley to the beach. I only wish there was a shuttle to what sounded like an amazing nature museum nearby.

Torre Guaceto is in Alto Salento, Brindisi territory. If you want to experience an unspoilt beach you are in the right place. Leave your car in the parking area and have fun!

I love the drive here from San Vito - through ancient gnarly olive groves. This is a great place to visit all around the year. In winter, for long shambling walks along the beach – picking up driftwood and saying ciao to the occasional walker or dog.In summer it's busy for the first 50 metres nearest the car park, after that you can have as much space as you want. Take a towel, a parasol and a picnic and you won't have to (or want to) leave all day. Beautiful sandy beach backed by dunes and woods – this is one of those big sky places where you feel you can breathe again.
