Very nice walk thru the canyon with snow. All waterfalls were frozen and you can see guys climbing them.

The Sottoguda canyon is a nice walk. The path is wide and paved so you can go there with children strollers. Even disabled people on scooters can enjoy it. I recommned to start the walk on the Sottoguda side, walk until point 7 on the track and than go back. If one person in the group is fit enought you can go all the way up and the "poor" guy will go back, bring the car and meet you there.

Great for families and adults. If you are looking for an easier walk, start from the town of Malg Ciapela and take the "train".

First of all, thank you for your review. For a few years in order to access the Serrai, during daylight hours and in the summer months, there is a small contribution from visitors. The aim of this contribution is the enhancement of the site so that it is maintained and improved. The site is managed by the Consortium Marmolada, not-for-profit consortium. This consortium, with clear arrangements with the municipality of Rocca Pietore ensures that 100% of the proceeds is allocated to Serrai di Sottoguda and the Municipality of Rocca Pietore with improvements and maintenance works for the good of our Guests. Every year we proceed with the safety of the walls, with the change and maintenance of fences, are also maintained in order Serres and most of the paths of the town of Rocca Pietore, are given grants to other organizations such as the Volunteer of ambulance of Rocca Pietore and much more. Being opposed it means to be opposed to the maintenance, improvement and site visit. It's a shame when people does not inform themselves before writing. The Serrai, unfortunately, are not UNESCO, but it is the Marmolada.Thanking you hope to see you again in the Val Pettorina | Dolomites.

From the parking lot of the cable car to the marmolada, walk down (or drive) to the lower part of the parking lot, there is an entrance to a natural reserve.Walk downhill and enjoy the walk and place. It's a canyon with a nice stream running in it.It takes an hour max to get down and there is a small train up.

Wonderful Natural reserve. This is a 2 km canyon formed by an earthquake and water erosion. In the winter, this water forms large stretches of Ice falls. You can walk thru the canyon or ski down from the Marmolada glacier into the hamlet of Sottogoda. You can watch ice climbers all day. Due to the constant shadows, they do not have to climb only in the early hours. Stop by one of the bars in town and order a bombardino, an eggnog with rum and whipped cream.
