It is sort of a “unique museum of its kind”. If you are looking for nicely preserved, refurbished and displayed original items this "museum" is NOT for you.But if you are looking instead for something that will awake your dormant memories, and you want to show up to your kids the so many different and fascinating ways mankind has been travelling on during the last two centuries or so, this is THE place.Vehicles and memorabilia of all kinds are stored open-air in a chronological sequence; the space is congested but it reserves many surprises after each corner.The only cons I see are: - limited parking facilities; - restricted opening hours, due to the evidently low budgets (the whole thing is managed by volunteers), you can get them easily at the phone number +39 0331 975198 (http://www.museodeitrasportiogliari.it/). Try and ask also for the opening hours of the huge model railway in HO.And my personal suggestion is to try financing a little bit this very useful attraction leaving a substantial tip in the end...

It is a fantastic museum (and, by the way, free of charge). You walk through it taking a journey through centuries and years. Transport is not something we are used to, not just a trivial thing, it holds so many secrets and mysteries! If you stay in the region, find time to visit this wonderful museum.

This will be a pure surprise to you! You will discover old carriages and walk through a metro train of Milan all in three hours time. The amount of history and passion that are at your disposal is impressive. The museum is a living experience, don't miss it!

I cannot believe this place survives without charging admission! Such a huge assortment of horse drawn carriages, plume written tickets, cable cars, moving models, reproductrion if a coal mine and even a vatican train coach. If you love trains and history calculate you may need to go back! Congratulations Mr Ogliari your private collection is really quite something!

Should you have the chance to go to Milan and head to Laggo Maggiore, plan some time to drive to this museum (east coast of the lake) as it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I have no real passion for automobiles -although married to one of that kind- nor an aircraft or train lover. However, even for me, the museum has been just an amazing experience; established by a enthusiatic lover of every means of transport you could think of, who wished to share his enthusiasm with everyone, to the smallest of people, you will find over there a real patchwork of trains, buses, cars, bikes, posters, photos, artefacts, some in good condition, some others quietly rusting or hanging on a decrepit wall. In this deeply moving transport museum, far more than the collection, it is the atmosphere that you will recall. Give it a try I am sure you will not regret it. Located in the small village of Ranco, for a change you can also pay a visit to the impressive nearby stronghold overlooking the city.

Collezione privata molto interessante per la particolarità dei oggetti mostrati. Il museo sarà trasferito a Volandia (vicino al aeroporto Malpensa) a Marzo 2015.Sehr interessante, private Sammlung. Viele rare und ungewöhnliche Transportmittel. Das Museum wird zur Zeit in dasjenige von "Volandia" (bei Flughafen Malpensa) integriert. Ab März 2015 könne die Objekte dort besichtigt werden.

Il museo ogliari è una gemma nel golfo della Quassa.E' un vero peccato che con la dipartita del fondatore sia stato abbandonato.Il trasferimento presso volandia (per quanto sia un peccato per la comunità di Ranco) speriamo sia una rinascita.

con mia moglie abbiamo portato nostro nipote di 5 anni al museo dei trasporti per fargli vedere la storia dei trasporti dal 1700 ad oggi.Nostro nipote ne è rimasto affascinato, ma anche noi adulti siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi dalla bellezza e la cura con cui è stato concepito.un grazie al professor Ogliari per il dono che ci ha lasciato.da vedere.

un bellissimo e interessantissimo museo dei trasporti.è piaciuto molto anche ai miei figli(7 e 9 anni),che hanno scoperto dei mezzi di trasporto mai visti prima.se passate da ranco non perdetelo!
