Actually the alley is very well sign posted. The small walkways and streets are charming themselves. The town offers plenty of restaurants, cafes, accommodation and just enough attraction to make it an evenings stopover or a few hours side trip.

tough city to drive my car. No wonder the Italians drive such small cars. The local priest helped us with the route. He drove along with us and was very, very friendly.

Makes a good picture, but overall, it's just two buildings built very close to each other with a path/steps in between.

Although clearly marked by signage on the walls of the town, this alley is a bit of a search to find, as the signs point in the correct direction but don't guide you step-by-step as some Americans expect. You have to do some searching on your own. Just remember that if you can walk down the alley without turning sideways, it's not the one you're looking for (unless you're particularly skinny, especially around the shoulders). The kids even thought this one was fun (they're 7 and 10). A quick sight, a fun search, and neat pictures at the end.

Very interesting and unspoilt village with two distinct squares; untouched corners tucked away, with plenty of scope to explore. The views from the walls outside the town are amongst the most spectacular in Italy

The title of Italy's narrowest alley goes to a vicolo in Ripatransone. Following the signs from the main piazza I was convinced that the second alleyway was the narrowest one. But it couldn't have been as I could walk down it normally. The narrowest alley is only 43 cm wide which means that someone with shoulders has to go down it sideways. I was concerned I might get stuck, but having reached the bottom without the need for vats of olive oil and butter to ease me free we spent a few minutes taking fun pictures of me having to be levered out!The town itself is a pretty example of a medieval Marche town and it is has wonderful views down to the Adriatic Sea. There are also a few other sites to visit as well.

Il punteggio d'eccellenza non va ovviamente soltanto al "più stretto vicolo d'Italia" (43 cm), per quanto singolare e suggestivo, ma all'intero centro storico, di chiara impronta medievale e sicuramente il più bello del Piceno insieme a quello di Offida. Il vicolo incuriosisce mettendo a dura prova la "taglia" di parecchi visitatori che vorrebbero passarci, il centro storico è invece senz'altro più indulgente e offre parecchie cose da vedere.Innanzitutto il nucleo di Ripatransone - "Belvedere del Piceno" - è caratterizzato, oltre che da complessi monumentali, da vari punti panoramici, il più alto dei quali è Colle San Nicolò, fresco parco civico (con giochi per bambini) da cui si gode un ampio panorama sul paese e sul litorale adriatico dal Conero fino al Gargano. Un altro punto con una bellissima vista - stavolta sui monti - è in Largo Speranza: di qui si spazia dal Monte dell'Ascensione fino alla lontana Maiella, passando per i Sibillini e il Gran Sasso.Tra le cose da vedere ci sono il trecentesco Palazzo del Podestà, la Cattedrale del 1597, il Palazzo Municipale di fine Seicento, che ospita il Museo civico archeologico Cellini, e il coevo Palazzo Bonomi-Gera con l'annessa Pinacoteca-Gipsoteca.

BELLA CITTADINA, situata inin alto su una collina . Il vicolo è veramnte strtto che ridere appena si passa se avete 2 bei chiapponi non ci passate di sicuro!

Credo che Ripatransone sia il più bel borgo di tutto il Piceno. Il centro storico è spettacolare con i suoi bellissimi palazzi antichi (molto particolare quello a forna di prua di nave). Ha la curiosità del vicolo più strettto d'italia (largo appena 43 cm.). E' definito a ragione il belvedere del Piceno: da qui si gode una splendisa vista sui monti Sibillini da una parte e, se il tempo è buono, lo sgurdo può spaziare fino al mare. E' un borgo che consiglio a tutti quelli che si trovano nelle vivinanze di visitare assolutamente. Al termine della vista credo che tutti saranno soddisfatti dell'escurdione.
