This was a trip down memory lane for my wife. She used to come to the ruins as a child and explore. This is a well preserved example of some great architecture. A must see if you are in the area.

We visited this place late in the evening when the restaurant and activities were closed.This place must have been very impressive once upon a time, but as far as the ruins are concerned they are not really worthwhile for me as an adult.I do however believe that this is a most excellent place to bring children to during the daytime when the activities and the restaurant are open.

We had driven by the Burg Kastellaun several times on our way to other places and finally decided to stop and visit the site. We discovered a museum (at the time there was, among others, a very interestingan exhibit about fashion from celtic to roman times), a restaurant, the opportunity to partake in bow-shooting classes, and a beautiful view over the surrounding landscape. This would be a great place to visit especially with children. The exhibits seemed to be geared towards adults, as well as kids. There was the opportunity to sign up for a variety of classes - learning to shoot with a bow, being a legionnaire, etc. The restaurant's menu looked promising, while we didn't haved enough time to stay and eat we definitely intend to come back. The atmosphere was casual, very cozy and inviting.

Wir haben das Programm "Das ritterliche Klassenzimmer" zwei Mal während unserer Sommerferienbetreuung mitgemacht. Trotz extremer Wetterbedingungen- beim ersten mal ritterlich kalt, beim zweiten mal extrem heiß- waren die Kinder total bei der Sache und völlig begeistert. Absolut tolles Angebot. Super kompetente und nette Betreuung...Sehr zu empfehlen!!!Der Name täuscht allerdings, das Programm ist an Wochenenden für alle offenLiebe Grüße Anja und Vally

Es ist eine sehr schöne Burgruine, man kann dort auch sehr gut essen.Der Blick über den Hunsrück ist einfach gigantisch

Et greit sted å vandre og utforske litt en lat solskinnsdag. Vi besøkte museet som var greit nok, men ikke imponerende på noe vis.

Schöne Anlage mit allem was man so sehen muss, als Historiker ! Für das leibliche wohl sorgt die Taverne....
