There isn't a lot of things to see in Bad Münster but one of the things to do is to visit the castle ruins of Burg Rheingrafenstein. We started by parking in the local parking garage and taking the manual ferry across the river to where the hiking trails start. The ferry was very reasonable to use and made the experience that much more special, costing only about 1 euro a person. They even had paddle boats there to enjoy along the river too. From there, there are a pretty considerable amount of hiking trails throughout the valley. And in the course of hiking around the valley you can stop at the ruins at the peak of the cliff. The ruins give you an absolutely fantastic view of the city of Bad Münster. It makes for an absolutely fantastic day and is even around and hour travel time from Frankfurt. Well worth the visit to enjoy not only nature but history in the form of exploring the fairly well preserved ruins.

Der Felsen Rheingrafenstein ist im Herbst die perfekte Kulisse für einen Horrorfilm. Wie er sich hoch über die Nahe erhebt ist einfach beeindruckend. Nebel und Mondlicht verleihen der Atmosphäre etwas mystisches. Wir wollten hinauf gehen, aber der Nebel hat uns das vermiest. Doch im Nahetal war es um so schöner.

Этот маленький городок находится в 1 часе езды от Франкфурта на Майне. Совсем недавно он стал официально частью другого небольшого города Бада Кройцнаха. Главные достоинства: 1) необыкновенно красивый ланшафт - высокая цепь скалистых гор, на вершине которой старинная крепость, и внизу живописная речка Наэ; 2) старинный парк с соляными инголяториями, приспособленных от оставшихся с 18 века соляных штолен (хотя сейчас идет ремонт, но парк открыт и часть штолен работает, все откроется в сентябре); 3) минеральный источник с горячей соленой водой, которой заполняют открытый бассейн; 4) тишина и покой. Этим местом любовался английский художник Тернер и оставил нам великолепные акварели. Все молодежные развлечения есть в Бадк Кройцнахе - здесь же только можно дышать, гулять, плавать, спать и любоваться.

Vom Rheingrafenstein hat man eine schöne Aussicht auf das Nahetal. Man hat mehrere Möglichkeiten dorthin zu kommen. Man kann sich von Bad Münster aus mit einem Nachen übersetzen lassen, kann dann links über Serpentinen über den Aussichtspunkt Gans laufen, von dort zum Rheingrafenstein. Eine andere Möglichkeit ist, über die Fußgängerbrücke auf die andere Naheseite zu gehen, dann ca. 300 Meter den Fluss Alzenz aufwärts über die Fahrbrücke, dann links halten. Der nächste Weg ist aber, wenn man nach dem Übersetzen mit dem Nachen den steilen Weg hochgeht. Oben kann man auch restaurierte Burgmauern besichtigen.
