I enjoyed my visit to this museum and felt that the €4 admission charge was good value. I received a friendly welcome in English and given some information about the museum. I don't normally like audio guides but the set-up here was professional and you could easily choose what to listen to and it was comprehensive and there was an English option.The museum is large and spread across several old houses. The houses have been stripped back in part to show what they looked like and the presentation of the building was really thought through. There were lots of interesting items on display with the history of them provided when it was known. The navigation around the museum was generally very good although I got a little confused in the final building although don't think that I missed anything.Overall I felt that this was really professional and some considerable effort must have gone into the architecture and design of the rooms. There was some mention of what the rooms were formerly used for but much of this was only in German and I gleaned some information but it would have been interesting to have a bit more background. The rooms in the last building visitors go, the former restaurant, especially seemed to lack just a little context.Definitely recommended though, I spent over two hours here and the staff were all friendly and made a real effort to engage with visitors.

This historical Musuem has an excellent audio guide in English and German. The storytelling style and the included head sets were great if you like more in depth information.. My favorite was the Schwanenkinder part which I think should be expanded since it is interesting for young and old. The time travel elements back in history were well done and even though I am not a big musuem and history fan I thought this one was one of the most enjoyable. The architecture is modern and then hangs on the historical elements in the building making it the perfect combination.

This restaurant is ideal for shoppers, particularly on market day. The food is excellent, if a little pricy! God service and pleasant ambience.

This museum was a wonderful experience, particularly for those who enjoy history. The museum is housed in a well-preserved medieval building and recounts the history of Ravensburg and the area through personal stories of the people who lived in the building since the 11th century. I loved how key time periods in Ravensburg's history came alive through profiles of its residents. In addition to wandering through the rooms, there were many manuscripts, artifacts and items through the ages (all of the descriptions are in German only). The English language audio guide was extremely helpful, was very well done and provided a wonderful narrative/context. Highly recommended and I would definitely visit again.

Bitte kombinieren mit einem Besuch im Kunstmuseum. Wer sich für die Stadtgeschichte interressiert, ist gewiss auch offen für die Kunst.Im Museum selbst gibt es einen interressanten Einblick in die wechselvolle Geschichte der Stadt. Die Entwicklung wird anschaulich dargestellt anhand der alltäglichen Situation der Bewohner des Viertels. Hier ist ein ganzes Viertel unter "museumsschutz" gestellt worden.

Ich muss meiner Vorrednerin zustimmen, der Empfang war sehr freundlich, ich hab mich gleich wohlgefühlt. Der Audioguide war auch sehr gut gemacht, manchmal kam ich allerdings mit der Bedienung nicht so klar. Teilweise war es kein Monolog sondern ein Hörspiel, damit kann man sich sogar ein wenig in der Zeit zurück versetzen lassen...Die Austellung war wirklich riesig, gut gemacht, aber fast schon zuviel um das alles wirklich aufzunehmen und zu verarbeiten. Ich hab mir nicht alle Texte/Ausstellungsstücke angesehen.Beeindruckend ist auch, dass ja eigentlich 4 Gebäude zu dem Museum gehören und diese durch einen überdachten Innenhof "zusammen gehalten" werden. das ist eine tolle Atmosphäre dort. Auch die Wechselausstellung war sehr interessant, die war allerdings ohne Audioguide. Für jüngere Kinder ist das Museum eher ungeeignet. Ich hatte zwar meine 11 Monate alte Tochter dabei, aber ich habe den Museumsbesuch extra in ihre Schlafenszeit gelegt, sodass sie die komplette Zeit geschlafen hat, ansonsten hätte sie sich sehr gelangweilt. Ich würd sagen ab so 7.Klasse wenn ein wenig Geschichtsinteresse vorhanden ist, ist das Museum geeignet.

Nach einem sehr freundlichen Empfang, kurzer Einweisung in die Nutzung des Audioguides und Bezahlung von äußerst moderaten 4 € Eintritt pro Erwachsenen, betraten wir die Ausstellung. Von außen kann man nicht erahnen, was für eine große Ausstellungsfläche einen erwartet! Ich war begeistert, mit wieviel liebe zum Detail die Ausstellung und auch der Audiorundgang aufgebaut wurde. Sie beginnen im Keller im 10. Und 11. Jahrhundert und erwandern sich pro Etage die entsprechenden Zeitepochen. Durch den Audioguide haben sie manchmal den Eindruck, ein ehemaliger Hausbewohner, wie z.B. Hans Humpi oder später der Gerber Wucherer kommen um die nächste Ecke. Besonders hat mir auch die Ausstellung über die Schwabenkinder gefallen. Auch hier wieder verstärkt durch den genialen Audioguide, sehr informativ, die Leidenswege- und geschichten dieser bedauernswerten Geschöpfe. Alles in allem, eines der besten Museen, die ich seit langem besucht habe. Auch für Kinder absolut empfehlenswert.
