A really lovely afternoon spent on this old steam railway.We booked in July to ensure we had reserved seats and this proved to be really useful.It became very busy before the train was due to depart.Coach 1 has soft seats, much easier for journey than the wooden slated variety. Check online to see which days and at what time the train is running.

Lovely preserved railway winding through the valleys near the German/Swiss border. Some fine bridges and tunnels. We had a big tender engine which made light f the journey. Good for kids and adults and for the enthusiast lots of places for photography. There is a nice museum at the station.

Its a great ride with it trough a beautiful nature beside the track There not much train like this left and therefore its definitive worth a ride

A steam train with interesting history traveling thru a beautiful landscape. The kids love it - the windows open so they can stick their heads out or stand on the landing. (watch out for coal particles)

A fantastic experience climbing up the mountains on the spiral railway crossing and recrossing your tracks. The tunnel sections were exhilirating especially if you are lucky enough to be able to get onto the end verandah of the coach next to the locomotive. A good selection of engines on show and ouir train was banked by a large tank engine altogether a great experience

maquina de vapor ,viaductos,tuneles en espiral ,coches de los 50 y 60 ,paisaje espactacular ,no se puede pedir mucho mas en pleno corazon de la selva negra,es un viaje relativamente corto ya que entre la ida y la vuelta son unos 50 kilometros y la verdad es que a los que quieran hacer un viaje al pasado es una buena experiencia,si vas con niños todavia mejor,esta todo mue versey bien conservado y no es demasiado caro,digno de verse

Möchte mal ganz wertungsfrei den Tag bei der Sauschwänzlebahn am 18.9.2014 beschreiben.(kann sich jeder selbst Gedanken machen)5 Min vor Öffnungsbeginn der Kasse um 12:30 - schönes Wetter, schon eine Warteschlange12:30 Tür bleibt verschlossen.12:40 Die ersten Wartenden werden unruhig und klopfen vorsichtig an die Tür. Keine Reaktion.12:48 Aufatmen an der Schlange die Tür wird endlich geöffnet.13:00 erste Gerüchte gehen in der Schlange um Panne der Lok. Unsicherheit ob außer Reservierern überhaupt jemand Karten bekommt. 13:05 Erste Gerüchte daß es wohl nur Stehplätze gibt.13:10 ein Beherzter geht vor und Ruft der Kasse zu ob dieses Gerücht stimmt.Nun endlich kommt die Bestätigung.Nur noch Stehplätze.13:15 Rentner und andere gehen enttäuscht da sie so lange nicht stehen können oder wollen.Fazit: fast 45 Min Wartezeit auf eine Information die viele zum Abbruch des Ausfluges brachte.

Ein wunderbares Erlebnis mit dieser Bahn - leider mit Diesellok - bestimmt viel viel schöner mit Dampflock - ganz gemütlich und entspannt die Strecke dahinzufahren. Belohnt wird man mit der wunderschönen Landschaft die man in aller Ruhe genießen kann.

Da die Lokomotive eine Panne hatte, musste diese gegen einen Diesllok ausgewechselt werden. - Wir waren im Zug rund 30Minuten ohne Info was läuft. Eher schlecht orientierter Bahnbetrieb. Trotz reservierter Termin mussten einige Teilnehmer stehen.

Viajar en una antigua locomotora de carbón durante una hora tiene su aquel que no deja de ser una turistada pero una buena experiencia si se viaja con niños. Cuando se llega al final hay un pequeño "txoko" donde calmar la sed y dar tiempo al cambio de locomotora. Los niños... como enanos"
