Booked on the 2.30 tour which we were warned was all in German by the woman in the visitors centre. The guide found out where everyone was from and when he found out we were the only non German Speakers in the group he apologised and bought us a brouchre each which explained what he was talking about and said in perfect english that he would try and tell us some of the information as we did the tour. The tour of the museum takes just under 2 hours and is informative and amusing in both German and the English comments that he threw in, taking you round both the history of the Brewery and the brewing process. At the end of the tour you can enjoy a couple of beers from a wide selection or a non alcoholic drink. Our ticket included a small gift which turned out to be 2 gifts each which more than covered the cost of the tour and drinks. There are a few steps on the tour which may make it unsuitable for those with mobility issues. Parking is restricted to 2 hours in the car parks but we were told just to move the card round in our window for another 2 hours and nobody would mind! Excellent value tour with a brilliant guide and well worth a visit.

The little town is beautiful and picturesque. When entering it, on the right is a big modern facility belonging to the brewery, keep going about another 100 meters and you will see on the left a small sign for the entrance to the visitors center. There is parking for several cars, someone even drove a camper van in.My husband and I took the tour of the brewery and really enjoyed it. You need to speak some German though, in order to get the gist of it, which we do. I think I understand about 30% of what the guide said, which was enough, since this wasn't my first brewery tour :). The guide was very congenial.I think there were about 15 people in all, which were split up into two groups, and it was nice to have such small numbers.The exhibits are interesting and well presented and include machinery, bottles, crates and other memorabilia from the brewery's existance. At the end of the tour we were able to sample the brewery's various beers in a pub room, each participant can have up to two glasses. I had the weizenbeer and my husband had the dark weizenbeer, both very tasty. For the children they offer alcohol-free beer (not quite 100% alcohol free though) or water.After the drinks we went to the shop where we received as gifts, two small, ceramic beer mugs with the brewery logo on them.The various buildings look well renovated and are kept up. There is a story about one of the buildings that was built as part of the original monastery, which has a few windows that were bricked up...apparently there wasn't enough money to finish the building so they decided there were enough windows already...The area around the brewery includes a nice restaurant at which we had lunch before the tour. The service could have been a bit faster, but the food was nice. The weather was okay so we sat outdoors which was very pleasant.There is a museum on the premises too, but we didn't have time for it. Also there is a big picture board of a monk with a circle cut out for you to stick your head through, for a photo opportunity!So I recommend joining the tour here as long as you have a rudimentary command of German. If not, try and find another brewery that has tours in English.

Great beer in a nice town, unfortunately the brewery tours weren't running whilst we were there but it was pretty easy to have a tour of the wears ourself at the attached pub.

I was a student at Stanford in Germany between Beutelsbach and Schnait (now in Weinstadt). Our parties on campus always featured a wooden keg of Arpirsbacher Klosterbraeu. One of our heftier students would drive a brass spigot into the side at the bottom of the keg sitting on a low stone wall, and an air vent into the top. And we would happily drink the fine brew from gravity feed rather than the pressurization used in the metal kegs today.It was one of the two bottled beers we served in our Ratskeller under the classroom.

We were really looking forward to this experience, and travelled from Triberg. When we got there just before 12, we heard the only tour of the brewery is at 2.30, and only in German, which we dont understand. Were really disappointed. The monestary museum was however interesting, and the cake at the cafe across the road was great.

The monastery is famous for its brewery, but also for its location. I recommend to hike to the local waterfalls, before later visiting the brewery museum.

We visited Alpirsbacher Klosterbraeu last week. The tour was entertaining and imaginative. Wonderful beer of course. Iwas also particularly impressed by the shop and the chocolatier on site. Needless to say the kids were delighted to receive chocolate beer bottles when I returned from my business trip to Germany.

The museum had a very interesting history of the Kloster and the town. I would have liked a map hand out to tell where I was going.

Visite du musée faite par le patron de la brasserie, une personne très agréable avec pleine d'humour. Puis une dégustation à volonté de ces bières et pour finir un chope à bière en cadeau.je conseille vivement cette visite.
