Great place to spend a bit of time,not bad considering K Junker was going mad while he did all the carving

I went here today with my husband after the German bus driver I work with told me the story behind it. Easy to find - we had to park on the street but it was ok to. 3 Euros each to get in, and that allowed you into the house and into another room to see some more of his work. You could also watch the film about the history of it - and yes it was in English to. I would say this is good for adults or teenagers who like to know the history of things - not for younger children plus it is no good for pushchairs or wheeled chairs. There was a nice kind young man upstairs who said if we wanted to know or ask anything then he would try his best to answer :) Make sure you have a 1 euro coin on you as you have to put your bags in the lockers before you can go into the house. While you watch the film you can also enjoy a help yourself coffee for a small donation. Well worth a Visit - only small didn't take us more than 30mins - but we enjoyed seeing it and hearing about the history of the place - (and I am not a big one for history things!) ;)

Incredibly unique and well worth visiting. This house is almost fairytale-like in an unusual way because of the "heavy" decor and furnishings so it is a house of unique, dark beauty and the visions of Karl Junker of there to be interpreted in however way you choose to

This typical 2-storeyed German house stands amongst its ordinary-looking neighbours and somehow seems to belong. The story goes that the original owner built the house for the woman he meant to marry and their future children. Somehow the marriage never happened and he went slowly mad. He spent his time carving all the timber in the house; the furniture, the windows, the stairs, even the outside. Today a key may be obtained from a caretaker by those who wish to visit.

Solch ein impulsantes und gleichzeitig bedrückendes Kunstwerk. Die Liebe zum Detail, der damalige Fortschritt und die Größe rauben einem wortwörtlich den Atem. Interessant, die Geschichte hinter diesem Haus. Das Leben Junkers und sein Lebenswerk faszinieren! Ein Muss für alle Touristen

Es ist echt interresant wie Karl Junker zu seiner Zeit mit seinen Mitteln dieses Haus erbaut und verziert hat. Es ist echt sehenswert und eine Erfahrung die jeder Besucher in der alten Hansestadt Lemgo machen sollte. Wen es interresiert und es sich nicht vorstellen kann was einen erwartet...Google, hat jede Menge Bilder unter der suche Junkerhaus Lemgo zur Verfügung, aber ich kann es Live nur empfehlen.

Das junkerhaus in meiner alten Heimatstadt der Alten Hansestadt LEMGO besuche ich immer wieder gerne, wenn ich dort mit ortsfrenden Freunden oder Bekannten in der Gegend bin.Es ist immer wieder eine einzigartige Erfahrung.

Das Lebenswerk Junkers berührt einen - einerseits wenn man sieht, mit wieviel Liebe zum Detail er sein Haus von oben bis unten, von vorne bis hinten aus Holz verzierte, dekorierte und somit zu einem Unikat machte, einem einzigartigen Gesamtkunstwerk. Andererseits erfüllt einen die Vorstellung eines Lebens gewidmet allein die ser Aufgabe mit einer nicht näher zu definierenden Traurigkeit. Man muß dieses Haus gesehen haben.Die Ausstellung im Anbau gibt einen guten Hintergrund über Junker und sein Schaffen.Unbedingt ansehen!

Mehrfach geplant, da wir dicht dabei wohnen. Immer wieder verschoben, dann hat es geklappt. Wir dachten: Junkerhaus muss man gesehen haben als echter Lipper. Wir kamen und das Junkerhaus hat uns besiegt. Es war so beeindruckend, so sprachlos machend und so ..... uns fehlen die Worte. Man muss dieses Haus, ganz aus Holz, mit allen Teilen aus Holz einfach gesehen haben. Für uns fast beschämend, so etwas tolles in unserer Nähe zu haben und es noch nicht angesehen zu haben. Ich weiss, ich war nicht das letzte Mal dort.
