On a boiling hot day, there is no better way than head to the seas! I love the sea and just sitting in the lower deck by the waves relaxes me :) The boat passes some great views on the way. Panormitis monastery was an interesting and worth a visit. On a hot day I wouldn't have stayed there any longer than we did, which was perfect. Symi, also, enough time to have some lunch at the harbour, do some souvenir shopping or go to the local beach for a dip. For me, the schedule was perfect, the boat crew was nice and I got to spend time at sea. Day well spent :)

The island was absolutely beautiful some fabulous looking boats/yachts always wanted to go there for a holiday but put off that there was no airport, soooo glad we did the day trip as thats all it's for, no good for a weeks holl as there's nothing there unless you just go for the sailing then it's fine, but well worth the day there it is absolutely beautiful would go back again but miss the tour and go exploring so we get to see more next time as the tour is a bit rushed and you don't get long enough to do you're own thing. However our tour guide Michael from olympic was really knowledgeable and looked after us really well and made the day enjoyable.

We did a trip with "Sea Dreams" to Symi Island and the Panomitis monestary.The trip started at 8 a.m. by bus pick-up in front of the church in Faliraki.The bus ride took approx. 30 minutes including several stops at the major hotels to pick-up more people.The ferry left at 9 a.m. and it took a bit over 2 hours to get to Symi. After entering the harbor, we had 2 1/2 hours to get around. The town itself has beautiful houses but the whole tourist stuff at the harbor is quite annoying. The time of to stay in Symi is to short to really get around, experience the city or even do a longer walk. Well, it is hot, but getting to the next beach is also no option (not enough time).For eating and buying souvenirs, the time is appropriate.After leaving an driving another 45 minutes, you will arrive at Panomitis. The time of the stop was 50 min. There's not thing more to see there except the monestary. But guess what happens when hundreds of people try to see that place at once?The monestary is really beautiful and has an interesting past, but there are way too many people.The ride back to Rhodes takes another 2 hours. And then you drive back with the bus to the pick up location.All in all, you will see:- a lot of the ferry 5-6 hours- the town of Symi ( 2 1/2 hours)- the monestary ( 50 min)- a bus (1 hour)For us (being a week on Rhodes) this is a wasted day that we should have spent on a nice beach instead. An for the money we could have eaten lots of extra Dolmades in a Tavern that evening.Maybe other companies will offer a guide as a package, we don't know. But that won't shorten the time of travel.

We visites symi with The Ferry called 'sea dreams'. It was a boat trip of 2 hours and then we were in symi. It is a beautiful village, But there isn't much to do. You get three hours to spend there, so you have to stay around The harbour, which is pretty boring. We took a little train that Goes a little farther away to a Panoramic view point. Beautiful, But that's it. The nearest beach is small and you have to walk a little bit to get there. After three hours, The boat departs again. It Goes around The Island to panomaritis, Where there is a monastiry. You get an hour to spend there, But you only need 5 minutes to see it. So I don't know why all The traveling agencies go to that place. Then back to rhodos, another two hours On The boat.. So my advice: don't go to symi. You can better take The high speed boat to Chalki! Same style of houses and there you can spent six hours On The most beautiful beaches for The same amount of money (€25).

We did a day trip to this lovely island ,great views of the jewel of the agenda .The water was blue the sun shining just perfect.

The hype in local Pefkos travel agents say Symi speaks for its self. Well, having been lured by professional photos and drawn by rumour of this islands beauty I fell victim toput it mildly at a cost of around 34 euros per person with no lunch or snacks included!If you have a liking for a two and a half hour boat journey on a rust bucket/ former ferrythen this could be for you. 'Sea Dreams' it was called ,I believe, but more a bad nightmare in my opinion. The whole experience fills up an entire day.Now, the excitement as the boat neared Symi was intense with everyone eagerly takingphotos of the houses set into the hillside before we all disembarked then... stalls selling sponges, leather goods, spices and lots of cafes and restaurants all eager for your euros. This is all around around the harbour and that was about it!To summarise I felt a bit dissapointed and felt I could have been doing something else.But, all was not over and we sailed on to Panormitis for a visit to the monastery thereto take more photos yet again. This lasted under an hour before heading back to Rhodes onboard the Sea Dream. Mostly French people on the trip who seemed fond ofa sea trip. A word of advice, save your hard earned euros and do the Day trip to Rhodes town instead or have a really nice meal that would be a better spend of your cash.

.... but please lose the cameras!! This is a magnificent monastery, but it is also a working church. If you are not dressed appropriately (you can definitely wear shorts and tee shirts, but no bikinis or Daisy Dukes), there is a woman outside the entrance that offers to loan you skirts or blouses you can easily put on and then return. There are signs everywhere (inside and out) asking that no photographs be taken inside the church (which is standard in Greek Orthodox churches). Yet people were snapping away with flash like it was a typical day in a Hollywood studio. I know that it disrupted many who came there for clearly religious reasons. As I told one happy tourist, "Why don't you take a picture of the sign that says 'Please, no cameras or photography?'" There is really not a lot to do in the other Symi port, so for us, the highlight of the boat trip was the visit to Panomitis Monastery (which is the other port in Symi).

Хорошая водная экскурсия из Родоса на Сими, островка со знаменитым на весь мир монастырем Паномитис и удивительной девственной природой. Правда, в жаркий день бродить по острову несколько утомительно, поэтому выбирайте лучше тур в более щадящую погоду - лобки отбывают на Сими ежедневно.

Никого не оставят равнодушными маленькие разноцветные домики, расположенные на холмах вокруг изумрудного моря. Гид проведет очень увлекательную экскурсию и расскажет об истории острова, о его жителях. Вас ждет очень интересный рассказ о главном историческом промысле жителей острова, о ловле морских губок. Теперь я знаю, почему они отличаются по цене, как их правильно выбирать и использовать. Посетите удивительно красивый монастырь Архангела Михаила, где находится чудотворная икона Святого, выполненная из чистого золота. Полюбуетесь на замечательные росписи монастыря и великолепную часовню. В свободное время погуляете по набережным Сими, пообедаете в одном из ресторанчиков прямо на берегу моря. Пожалуй, это была одна из самых приятных экскурсий на Родосе.

Excursion à 18 € trouvée sur le port de Rhodes.J'avais tellement entendu parlé de Symi que j'ai voulu le voir par mes yeux.Oui c'est super beau, tout du moins le village mais à part ça il n'y a rien à voir. Les maisons sont très jolies et ça fait de très belles photos. Mais franchement je suis déçue.Plus de 2h30 de bateau allé - idem au retour et encore 1h entre le village et le monastère. Voyage très ennuyant, et surtout le bateau tout droit sorti des années 60 !
