If you want to get a feel what is Greece, its history, culture, people, shopping, nature, food, drinks, etc, like you can get it by taking a cruise with Alex on one of his yachts. In one week he and his crew manage to show you all of that - and you will want to come back for more. And moving from one wonderful place to another on a traditional wooden yacht, as opposed to catamaran or other modern crafts, while beeing safe in hands of experienced skipper and pampered by delightful crew makes this experience truly unique and unforgetable.

We took a one week trip through the Sporades on the 'Anatolie'. It was a great trip visiting lovely isolated swimming spots, beautiful and interesting villages with good restaurants and interesting shopping. Life on board was relaxing and enjoyable - plenty to eat and drink and plenty of advice on where to eat and visit when on shore. Anatolie is a beautiful yacht - larger than many others sailing the islands so it has lots of deck space and room to move. It is older and has lots of atmosphere but you need to be happy to experience sailing - bathrooms cramped and can be warm in cabins. However if you want to give up a few modern conveniences and experience a wonderful and relaxing time sailing through the beautiful Sporades then Greece by Sail is a good option. The communication by the owner was excellent and captain Themis was not only highly competent but a charming host, ably supported by Lisa who served delicious and abundant meals and aperitifs.

Made for those who like adventure with a little comfort only, you are at the right place.Cabins could use some renovation, air condition in august cold help as well, however we have to admit that regardless of some missing things the trip was fantastic.Pleasant Skipper and Crew, good food and a lots of Ouzo made our trip pleasant.

I have taken two trips with Alexander, one on each of his boats -- the first through the Cyclades and the second through the Ionian islands. Both were wonderful trips.With Alex and his crew, you experience an unforgettable journey through beautiful islands on a first-class ship. You also have sailors who are experienced professionals and who know the region and the people in it. And, just as important, you get a feeling of being at home, with the friendly, respectful, and hospitable way that everyone is treated. It's like sailing with old friends. I recommend it to anyone.

Finally I can review my trip in this forum. A truly special week was had by my family 2A and 3 young teen boys on The ANATOLIE to The Sporades. I had searched far and wide for a family friendly cabin charter and it was wonderful. Our captain Themis and the lovely Hannah our host and much more, made every moment so relaxing. Various secluded bays, great food and fine company will make this a memorable holiday for years to come.

We have seen many countries in Europe and cruised many times in the Caribean. I was looking for an authentic sailing experience, in Europe,and chose the Sporades in Greece. I didn't do a lot of research before going, somehow this just "felt" right. This was, hands down, everything I could have dreamed of, and more. Transportation from the airport was by well organized, on time, luxury coach. It gave us a chance to meet our fellow sailors and enjoy the beautiful changing scenery. On board everything was so efficient. The food was unbelievably good: no idea how the Skipper, Hanna, made it happen in the small kitchen. The Captain, Themis, was amazing. He took the time to show my son many of the instruments he used for navigation and the operation of the boat. Every day brought us a new island to explore, tourist free, except for us, and the most unique waterside restaurants. My husband, my son and I all think this was a vacation of a lifetime and would return in a heartbeat. If you are reading this review looking for an authentic sailing holiday that doesn't involve ice sculptures and gambling but rather a grand adventure seeing the islands, swimming in emerald green waters and going to sleep under the stars, then look no further!

Nous avons passé une semaine en famille, avec nos 2 filles de 11 et15 ans, avec le Capitaine Thémis et sa co équiper Lisa, sur l'Anatolie en Aout ! Que dire ? c'était juste parfait !! Le bateau est très confortable, accueillant, tout envois, le capitaine est attentionné , à l'écoute des passagers, s'adaptant même à nos envies , apprenant à plonger aux enfants, nous expliquant plein de choses, tout cela dans la bonne humeur. Les petits plats de Lisa sont…….. copieux et plein de saveurs (grecques), bref une parenthèse inoubliables dans nos vacances grecques. les sporades sont un archipel à découvrir surtout hors des sentiers battus avec Thémis ! Coup de coeur pour le petit port de… on a oublié le nom, bref un petit pot charmant, 2 tavernes, une maison qu'Olivier voulait acheter (n'est ce pas Thémis!!!), ευχαριστώ Thémis !

Nous avons effectué la croisière sur l’Anatolie avec le Capitaine Thémis et l’Hôtesse Lisa et navigué dans les Sporades.Un pur bonheur, un véritable enchantement, de la beauté authentique... Les superlatifs manquent tant les moments passés sur le bateau - beau et confortable - étaient magiques (coup de cœur particulier pour la nuit passée dans la baie de Pontikonosi, avec la découverte magique du plancton phosphorescent). Du lever du soleil à son coucher, on oublie tous les tracas du quotidien et on en prend plein les yeux et le cœur tant le Capitaine tient à nous faire partager les merveilles de la mer Egée… Et avec le ventre bien rempli grâce aux plats (locaux) conséquents et savoureux préparés par Lisa !Nous ne saurions que trop recommander cette croisière. Elle a un gout de « reviens-y » : les iles Ioniennes l’année prochaine m’appellent déjà !Merci encore pour cette fantastique semaine ! Ne changez surtout rien : vous êtes parfaits !Leslie et Audrey

N'ayant jamais voyagé de la sorte sur un bateau pendant 1 semaine, j’appréhendais l'expérience...le plaisir fut total, m'amenant même à envisager de créer une activité touristique similaire en méditerranée. Merci à Captain Alex de m'avoir permis d'avoir de nouvelles émotions.Caique suffisamment grande pour que 10 personnes cohabitent, repas excellents, on ne se sent pas comme des clients mais bien comme des amis invités par Alex. Pour les amoureux de baignades dans des eaux cristallines.....

je tenais à faire partager notre enchantement sur le choix de la croisière sur l'Anatolie. Le circuit dans les Sporades fut toutsimplement magnifique (iles Skopelos, Skiatos et Alonissos et petites criques diverses charmantes), Le capitaine Themis et son assistante Lisa y ont largement contribué. Ils ont fait preuved'une grande gentillesse, d'un grand professionnalisme à tous égards et en toute situation (mer agitée) et très à l'écoute du goût des convives !,J'en garde un excellent souvenir ainsi que mes deux enfants de 18 et 17 ans. Je compte d'ailleurs réorganiser uncircuit avec des amis sur ce bateau dont le charme était à la hauteur de nos attentes. En plus la nourriture sur le bateau était excellente - et le choix du capitaine des petites tavernes du soir était tout simplement parfait. Ce fut un vrai bonheur que je compte bien renouveler dans les îles ioniennes l'an prochain j'espère. J'ai hâte d'y être déjà!
