It is not easy to find the Forklore Museum but it sits in plain sight. There is only one road approaching Apolonia from the south. It winds through the city and turns west at the "main plaza" where there is a taxi stand and the war memorial. Immediately to the left of the memorial, facing the road, on the east side of the plaza is the Museum. It has been closed for a very long time. The owner of the museum, we were told, is sick and does not want to open the museum. The plaza on which the memorial and the museum sit shows the signs of neglect. As you approach the iron gates of the museum, the smell of urine is apparent. We asked many locals before finding the museum. Some told us they'd never heard of this museum.

Πάνω στον κεντρικό δρόμο Καμάρες-Αρτεμώνας, στο κέντρο της Απολλωνίας, 100 περίπου μέτρα από το Δημοτικό πάρκινγκ και στη αρχή του πεζόδρομου με τα τουριστικά καταστήματα, ένα μικρό αλλά ενδιαφέρον μουσείο με πολλά εκθέματα και με περισσότερο ενθουσιώδεις ¨οικοδεσπότες¨, που προσπαθούν να σας ενημερώσουν για την ιστορία του τόπου τους. Δεν θα βρείτε "μουσείο" με την ακριβή έννοια του όρου, αλλά ένα χώρο οπου συγκεντρώθηκαν με μεράκι αντικείμενα, που αφιλοκερδώς παραχωρήθηκαν, για να παρουσιάζεται η ιστορική διαδρομή του τόπου. Το μικρό αντίτιμο της επίσκεψης δεν αποτελεί λόγο να μη το επισκεφθείτε. Το ενδιαφέρον και η προσοχή μας ενθαρρύνει παρόμοιες προσπάθειες διατήρησης της πολιτιστικής κληρονομίας μας. Εξάλλου στην Ελλάδα διαπιστώνεται καθημερινά πως ότι λειτουργεί οφείλεται στο φιλότιμο και την φιλοπατρία των Ελλήνων.

Ce petit musée de la vie locale de Sifnos offre quelques belles pièces (anciens intruments de travail, artisanat, histoire locale, etc...) mais l'ensemble est hétéroclite et donne plus une impression de marché aux puces que de musée.Il vaut malgré tout le détour et le prix d'entrée n'est que de 2 euros, donc pas de regrets.

Προκειται για ενα μουσειο μικρο με πολλα εκθεματα οχι σωστα τακτοποιμενα ομως.Ειναι ενας σχεδον ενιαιος χωρος και δυστυχως δεν παρεχεται ξεναγηση. Αξιζει ομως να το επισκεφτειτε αφου η εισοδος δεν ειναι καθολου δαπανηρη...
