The shipwreck is in a cove that is about a 10 minute hike from the main road. There are many theories and myths about how it ended up there, but regardless of how it did, it's a very impressive sight. The middle half is submerged, but either end sticks out of the water. It's quite a large ship, which is more apparent if you hike down to it. The only negative is that cove beach is covered in trash. Otherwise, it's a sight to behold.

A nice view from the road, worth the 10 min walk to the Shipwreck to take a closer look. The beach is not that good however. The shipwreck is also depicted in the movie "The Deep Blue" by having paranormal characteristics if I am not wrong. There lots of myths of how the ship ended up here. The bottom line is that it offers a nice view.

Driving south to Kalotaritissa beach, and a few kilometres before you reach it, on your right, there is an old shipwreck that catches your glance.There is no road sign, you have to check for it as you're driving, but you can't miss it.Its name was "Olympia" and bad weather along with smugglers is said to have pushed it here in 13/02/80.You can take pictures from a distance if you leave your car on the road (in a flat spot next to a wire surrounded field) after you have left the ship behind or you can walk through the narrow soil path until you reach the small beach where you'll be close to it.Some scenes of the movie 'The Big Blue' were from this shipwreck.

Και μόνο που το βλέπεις από τον δρόμο ενθουσιάζεσαι αλλά ξεκινώντας να κατέβεις αλλάζεις γνώμη και γυρνάς πίσω. Αιτία τα σκουπίδια που είναι σε βαθμό αποκρουστικό. Απορώ: τόση αδιαφορία από τους τοπικούς παράγοντες τον νησιού??? ΑΠΑΡΑΔΕΚΤΟ. Δεν γίνεται σύγκριση με της Ζακύνθου βέβαια αλλά όχι και τόση αδιαφορία..... Πάντως μία βόλτα από την θάλασσα στην περιοχή θα είναι (μάλλον) μαγευτική (οι φωτογραφίες λένε πολλά ) .... Αξίζει η επίσκεψη σας και ελπίζω το περιβάλλον να είναι πια .... καθαρό ....

Das Wrack der Olympia, das einst Luc Besson als Drehort zum Film "Le Grand Bleu" diente, hat auch schon bessere Tage gesehen. Es rostet in der Bucht Liveria, nahe Kalotaritissa vor sich hin. Vor nicht langer Zeit ist es entzwei gebrochen. Nichts destotrotz ist es aus der Unterwasser-Perspektive sehenswert. Einiges ist noch recht gut erhalten, zum Beispiel der große Propeller. Sollte man das Glück haben, mit Einheimischen unterwegs zu sein, erfährt man interessante Geschichten zum Unglückshergang. Bemerkenswert ist die Bucht weniger wegen dem malerischen Ambiente. An dieser Stelle sammelt sich viel Abfall. Strömung und Wind treiben Müll, der von Schiffen ins Meer gekippt wird, hier in großen Mengen zusammen. Nicht gerade ein Anblick, der zum Verweilen einlädt, aber allemal ein Platz um auf einer malerischen Insel auch über Umweltverschmutzung gründlich nachzudeneken.

Vue du haut de la colline cela semble beau mais quelle déception quand vous approchez du site la plage est dégoutante tous les détritus de la mer viennent s'accumuler dans l'anse.ne perdez pas votre temps à marcher sous le soleil vous ne pourrez absolument pas vous baigner. Par contre poursuivez votre route jusqu'au bout de l'ile et là vous y découvrirez un petit lagon tranquille et propre aux eaux cristallines.

Mit einem Bott schippert man von Zakynthos Stadt ca. 4 Stunden zur Schmugglerbucht.Das Schiffswrack ist nicht gerade das Gelbe vom Ei(extrem am verrosten=gefährlich),aber die Felsen und das Meer sind fantastisch.Das Wasser sieht wirklich aus wie auf den Postkarten(tiefschwarz bist türkisblau).Auch kann das Schiffswrack von einer Plattform aus von oben betrachtet werden.Nur sollte man definitiv schwindelfrei sein!Von hier aus sind die Farben noch viel extremer.

il navagio è il luogo scuro di amorgos.chi ha visto il "grand bleu" di Besson non può non andarci ,ma la realtà è più cupa della finzione. si scende per un sentiero mal tracciato , ma agibile per una mezz'ora e ci si trova davanti al relitto.fa veramente impressione ,ma ciò che lascia sconcertati è la montagna di spazzatura di plastica che si è accatastata sulla piccola spiaggia della baia .si cammina in mezzo a mezzo metro di bottiglie,contenitori,scarpe,barattoli ecc. il mare sarebbe stupendo,ma non te la senti proprio di entrare in acqua per avvicinarti al relitto.forse è giusto così ,ritorni con il pensiero di quello che viene gettato in mare e la sensazione di aver visto un posto" scuro", ma autentico

Spinto dal figlio ci siamo fermati sulla strada eci siamo inoltrati fino alla nave ,veramente strano vedere questa nave incagliata
