Biolea is truly a remarkable "juice" of the Olive, it is found just a short drive from Chania in the Astrikas Estate. The area is breathtaking, quite, clean and the sheep and goats roaming the steep slopes probably the healthiest and happiest I've ever seen.we toured many places on the island met many friendly and hospitable people and listened to many stories about so many wonderful Olive Oils but Biolea is still the best one can find, it is so smooth and so healing. Thank you George and Christina, we love Biolea Olive Oil.

Biolea is one of the places you must visit, when visiting west Crete. It is easy to find, and is well worth a visit due to the historyæ, people, nature & most of all the olive oil that you won't find any better around Crete. If you visit, you will get a great idea of how you produce some of the worlds finest olive oil and when tasting it, you will love to bring some oil with u back home. Spread the word, so these amazing products get the publicity it deserves. Thank you Biolea for trusting and believing in the good methods and in an environmentally correct solution.

Really interesting to see the whole process. Tasting at the end. Bought some of their amazing olive oil. The quality is one of the best I've tried.

We had a lovely visit to this olive oil estate. Christine, the owner, showed us around and explained the processes used to produce their olive oil. We had the opportunity to try the delicious oils and find out for ourselves the benefits of using stone mills and cold pressing to produce such a high quality oil.

What a surprise to find a Canadian lady giving us a wonderful tour of her organic olive oil factory with old stone presses. Will order online from them.

My friends and I were traveling though Crete for just a few days and, while we could have spent each one at the beach, we decided to explore the interior a bit. Fortunately, a little bit of research brought us right to Biolea. I called that morning and was able to arrange a tour for the same afternoon. Christine was welcoming, friendly, and very knowledgeable. While they have just a small staff of mostly family, she spent a long time with us describing their traditional approach to milling olives and all the incredibly hard work that goes into making a high-quality product. It really was stunning to learn about the intricacies of the process and the effort they've put into preserving old-world techniques. Then, the best part comes when you can taste all the products. Again, despite all she had to do that day, Christine was patient and helpful in guiding us through the tasting process. She even gave us a bunch of restaurant recommendations for small, out of the way, non-touristy spots.

On our recent visit to Crete, we were fortunate to visit the Biolea organic olive oil farm. We had a wonderful, but brief, tour of the farm and the olive oil production facility - including the magnificent stone grinder they use to grind the olives, and the cold-press they use to extract the oil. The farm sits on a stunning hilltop with incredible views in all directions, and centuries old olive groves extending up and down the hillsides. We also tasted the three types of oil produced there, and were able to purchase bottles to bring home as gifts. Lovely operation, delicious oil, friendly people. Worth a visit if you are towards the western side of Crete near Chania. PS - Watch the video after the tour - it explains and shows a lot about the production process.

We went on a morning tour of this delightful organic olive oil family estate just about 40 mins west of Chania. We were shown around by the owner Christine who took us through the plant and showed us how they process the olives using granite mill stones and bespoke machinery to get as much pure oil as possible, with no additives / water used to dilute or affect the quality of the end product. This is true cold pressed stone milled olive oil and the taste of the final product was subtle and superb. I especially liked the two flavoured varieties of lemon and orange - again using the same milling process to give gentle flavoured oils for salads or cooking.George (husband and 3rd generation family head) was on hand to help with sales at the end, and it was clear that they both were very proud of the quality and standard of their product. I would agree whole-heartedly with them.A delightful and informative way to spend a morning and fully appreciate what effort it takes to make a top-quality extra virgin olive oil. Forget the supermarkets - this is the real thing.
