Visited with my children who were amazed and the militaria, history and especially the armour..interesting place worth a visit

This is a network of Graz museums. The most important is at Schloss Eggenberg. The original 9th century Johanneum complex in the city was disappointing, at least for art. There is a Louvre type underground foyer space, with upstairs a well displayed but small collection of 19th century Austrian art and a contemporary tempoary exhibition. Not many people about. The other museums and palaces are more exciting

Great thing about this, is you can buy a universal ticket for several days and visit all the museums they offer (from one-entrance and one-day ticket up). It gets cheaper this way then paying for every one separately.

We loved all the museums housed under this umbrella. We had gone to Schloss Eggenberg and paid a few more euros to have this museum card. The palace took up most of the time, so we managed to see the folk museum which gave us a taste of Graz's cultural history.

Schon als Kind haben wir uns die Mineralien, ausgestopften Tiere und Bilder angesehen. Nun ist alles auf den neuersten Stand gebracht worden: Altes und Neues sind wunderbar kombiniert worden. Ganz toll der Eingang mit der Rolltreppe, großzügigem Eingangsbereich und Bibliothek. Ein Universalmuseum, auf das sein Gründer Erzherzog Johann stolz wäre.

Die Ausstellungen sind exzellent, die Eintrittspreise passen sich dem Umfang der besuchten Ausstellungen an.

Sehr schöne Ausstellung, ein Ort für Auge und Seele. Leider war eine zweite Ausstellung gerade geschlossen - aber das kann ja auch ein Grund für eine Wiederkehr sein!

Di tutto il museo ho visitato "solo" la sezione di storia naturale. Un allestimento moderno ma con molti elementi classici, come erbari o cassette entomologiche, tutti nuovi di zecca. Animali preparati presentati in modo più dinamico, per ambiente o in movimento insieme al proprio scheletro. Eccezionale la sezione mineralogica in cui si fondono le vetrine storiche di minerali (qualche migliaio?) con pannelli e teche moderni. Direi un ottimo esempio che il Muse di Trento avrebbe potuto seguire.

Sehr anschauliche und interaktive Vermittlung von Zusammenhängen zwischen Mathematik, Physik und Naturwissenschaften. Bis Anfang Juli, Empfehlung für Jugendliche und Erwachsene!
