In south is by definition a more sunny area, with nice "nocke", beautiful mountains, green forest and amazing snow

With snow in short supply on the lower slopes, the snow here was of a good quality, and not busy, and warm welcoming huts

The Nockalmstrasse could be the exclusive reason to visit this region. Apart from the spas and adorable Penziones, this park is outstandingly beautiful. We drove the strasse and visited 6 stops: The Elements Walk, the Wind Sea, The Wish Bell, Wolitzenhutte, Karls Bad, and the peak mountain with 360 degree views. In total I think we spent roughly 6 hours in the park. Because we stayed in Haus Maria in Bad Kleinkirchheim we had free access as well. It was a perfect visit. I highly recommend Wolitzenhutte for lunch or a drink. It's a 15 minute walk through the woods or maybe a 25 minute walk over a gravel road - very easy. The women that run the Alm are super sweet and funny. I recommend the Kaiserschmarrn!

The Nochalm Strasse forms the basis of the Nochalmrunde and 80km road cycling tour. 2 big climbs and the Nochalmstrasse is a toll road but free for cyclists. Both summits have restaurants as there are a few other places to stop, it's just the quiet (apart from quite a lot of motorbikes!) and the scenery that make this such a great area.

The mountains are really beautifull with many peaks like "nocke" - not so high and not so sharp, green, with flowers. There are many sites for travelers - many natural sites, various open air exhibitions, fairy sites in forests, many beautifull "almhuetten" with excellent cuisine. The nockalmstrasse road is the best way how to explore these mountains. I aware of horrible site Innerkrems and Blutalmhuette which are let's say not beautifull places and Blutalmhuette chair lift is opened only several days in week so I reccomend to check it at thier web site. I specially reccomend Zechner alm for dinner. I have to say that these mountains are too rainy. The sunny days are really rare!

Molto belli i Monti Nock, panorami e itinerari interessanti.
